DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Afternoon Dads! In the 80’s around here and just taking a break and sitting on the porch for lunch rather than just working through from home for 12 hours before realizing. Wishing all a great weekend with your families and positive thoughts that we all come out on the other side of this thing on our feet and with our health - cheers brothers!
Sending prayers for your SIL
Hope that.
1. Results are negative. But if not;
2. Symptoms are mild.
Hope she fails the test.
Morning boys, from a sunny London. Reached out to Jeff and Norm, as I haven't seen them for a while. Another run in the books, so the marathon training is on track. Shops seems to be calming down a bit here, I'll venture out and maybe get some Ribs for BBQ tomorrow. We have a ton of Lego turning up today. The stores are closing until at least April 12, we found out this morning. So it looks like like I am doing a year's worth of project in about a 5 month window, as we steer clear of November, and we are modelling not coming back until June.

Last night was another EPCOT eating around the world, we were in Norway. The boy prepped Pork Belly, went on the the interwebby, worked out how long to cook it for, the time to put it in, and the curly haired Ninja prepped the potatoes and the cabbage. It's actually pretty fun. Curly Haired Ninja got to pick the name of the restaurant, so we went with......

Elsa's Palace.

China and Germany next week.

Yeah, but when you get up there, the Aliens take your temp before they let you through.

I think everyone in life should work at least a year in either retail or the food service. It teaches you not to be a complete d!ckhead to people. Retail and Food are incredibly hard jobs. I stayed in retail because a lot of the time up to a pretty high level, it's a meritocracy. If you are good, you get on. If you aren't, you can p!ss off. I don't miss all the disciplinary meetings I had to hand out though. Normally for not turning people not turning up, or abusing discount. Or generally being a bit rubbish.

All the best mate, hope for a good outcome.

Yeah, we all kind of feel a bit useless. in any other time we would be all flying round there, having the kids, helping out......

Cheers Rob

Thanks mate

Welcome sunshine! Honestly, we generally talk about Jasmine's bristols, BBQ, and alcohol rather than worldwide pandemics, ****** bosses and mortality. Stick with us, and normal service should be resumed at about 2 O'clock, where you usually get the bonus of me allowing you to leave work at the time I finish. All part of the international Disdad service. Randall, did you brand him on the butt yet with his number? And don't give none o this lockdown nonsense, there's a job to do.

Congrats! That's exciting! Enjoy the early stages where you open your fridge and the cheeky nibbles you were saving for later are still there....

Have a fabulous day chaps. We are alive. We all have our families. And as far as I can work out, none of us support Spurs. Let's Gaston it up, puff our chests out and push on through to the weekend.
Thank you all, appreciate it and hoping for pixie dust
Morning from a overcast Westfield NB. Got my surgery done yesterday, everything went well. Back at work today, Happy Friday guys
Glad it went well Rob - cheers!
My daughter works for Chick Fil-A part time. The one phrase they have to nail, of course, is "My pleasure". I learned from her that there's a whole dialect in those two words, depending on tone and inflection.

I've taken quite a few more walks around the neighborhood, myself.

Sarah comes home awfully tired every night she works. They really don't have any downtime at that place.

Yikes. Praying for good news, Mike!

:rotfl2:

Thanks for doing that. I've seen Jeff pop up on Facebook once or twice.

Still a cool idea. Sounds like the kids are into it.

This.

I can't say my daughter really loves her job. We told her at the start, though, that she was going to learn a ton of valuable lessons that would help her later on when she has a job she wants. Two years later, she's told us she understands that now--how to work for someone, how to deal with people of all kinds (especially dealing with unhappy people), etc. And she'll have incentive to do well in school so she never has this kind of job again!

:rotfl:Rookie hazing. Somebody has to do it.

Glad to hear it, Rob!

Been wandering the Netflix menu for something to pass the time.

I was thinking of exploring the basement this weekend. It'll be an adventure!

Wow. Praying they caught it early.
Thank you sir, positive toughts

I am drinking it sitting up, despite the photo.

What I notice about that photo? Not the flamingo glass... not the angle... but the green grass outside. I miss green. So over winter.

Well, I'm halfway through a Margarita. I don't know about everyone else. I am drinking it sitting up, despite the photo. Cheers fellas. Always good to chat with ya.

Getting a bit of envy of all the pictures you've been posting with the sunshine shining though your windows, Dan. Been nothing but grey skies, rain and fog here in in the Land of Mary...

It's been a blessing mate with the kids off. When we are both on conference calls we just sling a couple of cookies in the garden and let em fight it out...

Morning, gents.

Yep. That's about it. Today and tomorrow at work, then finally some days off. After Sunday, won't have any more long stretches for... probably ever.
Right now during the virus, we're going to two crews working 4 days on, 4 days off. After that, new rules were coming into effect that no one can work more than 9 days in a row.

Morning All, beautiful day here in downtown Douglas, New Brunswick. Not much planned for the day, maybe go for a walk and maybe shave. Could be a big day!

Stay safe.

Wow, just took a pandemic to get a little sanity into your work schedule.

To O the Mornin Dads! DS had to head out early this morning to return to campus To move out. They scheduled all the kids at different time windows and they weren’t allowed to have others join to help. He’s got a long day including 4 hours driving. This thing is a real PITA.
Stay safe and hope to join in on zoom meet tonight
