Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

sitting on the phone ( again) with my bottle of scotch to find another resort...grrrr.
This November trip is our third after two previously cancelled vacations this year. I'm honestly just so mentally exhausted and tired of planning this trip. Maybe the fates are trying to tell me to throw in the towel on 2020 😢.

About a week ago, I called to remove park hoppers from our October 20 BC reservation. After the changes were made, our room type reverted to a standard room from a deluxe room. I called back immediately and it took quite a bit to get it back because the deluxe room type was showing completely unavailable to the phone CM. She kept saying "this is really weird, it's not even letting me see standard rooms". Should have known...:(

Yup just got our email too for our mid September stay! Ugh....so sad! We were going back to redo our honeymoon 25 years later....been sticking it out through all the changes and hullabaloo.... not sure we will now

i understand...we had to cancel May at AKL and we had a Nov. trip , booked in Feb. for AKL and had to switch to BC. which is also a favorite. Maybe now YC or CBR.

For our our Sept trip, at first, we were suppose to stay at BWI. Saw it wasn’t going to be opened, had to call (all day & hours on hold), changed to BC, NOW, this morning saw BC not going to be opened, called back & was able to switch to YC. I’m not going to lie, it’s kind frustrating. The CM I spoke to on the phone had no information pertaining to when or IF either BWI or BC would/will open. And basically no more information about anything regarding resorts, parks, etc, other than what’s been posted here on the boards. Also, one thing that did get me a little perturbed, I was told even though it’s Disney closing the resort that is making us more resorts there would be no lateral move for costs. In others words, if the resort we move to is more expensive, we would pay the higher price. Luckily for YC, that wasn’t an issue. But seriously, if they keep YC closed next, what is our option? GF, Wilderness? Then I guess we either pay extra or don’t go. Maybe that’s their master plan to make more money by moving people to higher price deluxe resorts? 🤷🏼‍♀️

For anyone that has a trip to the BC, I just saw this posted on the News and Rumors Board. I also saw it posted in one of the FB groups I follow.

As we continue our phased approach to reopening at Walt Disney World® Resort, we are welcoming Guests back to Disney Resort hotels, theme parks and Disney Springs.

We are committed to reopening Disney Resort hotels, though at this time we have decided to adjust the reopening dates for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort due to the current environment. With this in mind, the planned reopening dates for additional Disney Resort hotels will be as follows.
July 29: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Aug. 24: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Sept. 21: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Oct. 4: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Oct. 14: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Nov. 1: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

While we had previously shared reopening dates for Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, these Disney Resort hotels will remain closed until further notice while we continue to reevaluate their reopening timeline.

Wow!

Didn't expect this news when I logged onto the thread.

Thanks for letting us know.

::yes::

“But seriously, if they keep YC closed next, what is our option? GF, Wilderness?”

Not Wilderness Lodge anytime soon... they were already on the not reopening list, not a booking to be found to the end of 2020 last I checked. 🙁. Perhaps AKL.. smh. 🤔

Well I changed my mind about calling that quickly 😂🤣. I saw that there was availability at Yacht Club for our dates so figured I might as well go ahead and make the change before availability became potentially more limited since we are going Thanksgiving week. So our new information if you want to update the list BOG @natebenma, is 11/19 - 11/28 Yacht Club Garden/Woods View.

What is the best phone number to call to change reservations... Online I can switch over to the yacht club but it is more money for our dates.

I called the regular reservations line first and was quoted a more than 3 hour wait, so I hung up and tried the guest services call back number that was posted somewhere here on the boards a while back and was speaking to a cm within 15 minutes. The guest services number is 407-939-7866.

Well I switched our Thanksgiving Week Beach Club stay to a 1 bedroom at the Riviera resort...I was able to do it online so no hold times. We really wanted to be at Beach Club but with no reopening date...Excited to try the new Resort out and praying we will be able to go at Thanksgiving.

Wow, that is shocking about the beach club. Can’t believe they would open one without the other?!? SAB?? Cape May cafe??

It is shocking. I guess Disney is seeing more cancellations than they anticipated. But, as the YC is already taking care of guests because of the NBA, it makes sense that they would open YC to all guests rather than BC.

Do we know if the NBA players are using SAB? If they are, that may be a good sign for future guests.

keep in mind...yach club is "open"...but only for the NBA people.

But it's set to open late August to guests. It's obviously much easier to consolidate everyone into 1 resort than have 2 separate arms going. I really do hope they open SAB though, otherwise we're moving resorts to something cheaper because at this point it's just not worth the upcharge for a comfier bed.

Same. We stayed at CBR last year and were fine with it. If SAB remains closed, we will just modify our stay to CBR and save some money. The modification history on this trip already reads like a novel anyway, so what's one more change 😂?

YC currently may be set to open late August to the general public, but Disney could change that. Who knows.

We really like CBR! This is our first trip staying Deluxe and I'm looking forward to a "nicer" resort and staying somewhere new, but if it doesn't work out because of reduced amenities that's OK too I'll just be happy to be there.

Does anyone have input on the pools at Saratoga Springs? They have 2 pools with slides?

I was just checking other DVC resort availability and IF I were to bail and switch my only other options are the Contemporary or Saratoga (also AK but we did AK last year and those are my points for the next trip so I really want to do a different resort). I just have pool days planned into this trip and want to make the most of those days.
