Last Minute Trip, How do I get reservation? Very unique situation

Today is Aug 2nd 2020 and we just booked a 7 day Disney World visit starting Aug 9th. I purchased park tickets from Disney, linked to my exp account, made park reservations. Planning on being in Hollywood studios 2 times during our visit. Here's the catch. Our hotel reservations were Disney Vacation Club villa's booked through David's Vacation Club where we buy points and get our 2 bedroom DVC room. So, it doesn't show up like a regular hotel booking.

It's my understanding that we have to get reservations for the Star Wars Galaxy Edge. I'm still not entirely sure if it's just to get into the land, or to go on the main attraction ride? Please help me understand.

The when in the park we have to join a virtual queue? Please help me understand.

How do I go about getting a reservation for the 2 days we will be at Hollywood studios considering I don't have an "official" hotel reservation, but will be staying at BLT?

What Else am I missing here?

Thanks,

Roveer

Link your resort reservation number to your My Disney Experience app. Right now there are only two open booking times for RotR and that is at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. You need to be inside the park and logged into your MDE. All members going will also need to be inside the park to get on to the virtual que if they are going as well.

You no longer need a reservation to get into Galaxys Edge. You do need a valid park ticket admission and reserve Hollywood studios as your park pass for that day however.

I am not sure what you mean by not having an official hotel reservation. If you booked a resort stay you have a reservation number which can be added to your My Disney Experience.

When you "rent" points from Davids it does not show up in the "my exp app". There was some kind of warning about linking the reservation about having to have all the names match exactly from Davids to "my exp account" I'm going to work on that tomorrow when I receive the actual booking confirmation from davids. I'll also work with Disney travel to get it linked.

So are you saying that no advance "reservation" is needed to enter Galaxy's Edge?
I just need to join the virtual queue (by being in the park at 10am or 2pm) with my party to ride RotR? Lots of other stuff I've been reading refers to having a 4 hour reservation for GE?

Thanks,

Roveer

Yes. You are right. It won't automatically link your Resort reservation but, you can link it yourself. I have not rented from David's but, I have used another broker, I have also rented directly from a DVC owner and I own as well. Each time I have had to add my reservation number myself.

You no longer need to have a reservation to enter Star Wars Galaxy's Edge itself. You will need a reservation for things like Savi's Workshop and Oga's Cantina(which I highly recommend). I don't expect that SWGE would even come anywhere near to capacity at this time either.

Just get on MDE once and have everyone in your party listed so that one person can reserve everyone on the virtual que. You have two opportunities as of now 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Everyone must be inside the park to join.

Got it!!! Many thanks. Will look into making the required resi's (Savi's/Olga's). This should be interesting... Not huge Star Wars fans, but the theming from what I've seen looks amazing as well as RotR.

Savis Worshop gives you the chance to build your own lightsaber. It is not cheap. But, we ARE Star Wars fans so it was a pretty amazing experience. I don't know what ni loving StarWars is like so not sure you'd feel the cost is worth it.

You will want to do Millenium Falcon and try to get Pilot.

Excuse me. Its official name is Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run.

Just to add to advice already given, for Rise of the Resistance, I recommend you read the first post in this thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/r...planning-and-information-no-spoilers.3782822/ Tons of great information there and it'll tell you everything you need to know about the VQ/BG process.

Once you do that, I recommend you read the last few pages just to get a feel for the current conditions, ride performance (it goes down a lot), crowds, app glitches, etc. Was a huge help in January to understand the process. We had two DHS days planned and rode both days.

Have a great trip!
(We'll be arriving around the same time as you :) )

Savis isn't operating right now. It's just the Droid build
