I’d argue that Zootopia fits in the park as much as Victorian London does.
But whatever they do I’ll keep returning. Although, what I have started doing is venturing elsewhere more than usual. I went to 75 different parks this year, usually that’d be all money going to Disney.

yeah, I think that is what happens - it isn't "oh that's it, I am never going to Disney" - it is little things that erode the loyalty.

Other IP that could fit:
- Up fits really well with South America - could do a really fun ride as if you are in the house on your way to Paradise Falls
- Raya and the Last Dragon into the Asia section
- heck, could dosomething with Wall-E showing what happens if you don't take care of the environment
As others have said .. ANYTHING could fit and be better than Hester & Chester's Dino-Rama. :)

I'm not sure what people think is IP and what isn't? Everything Disney owns is IP and anything "NEW" they develop is IP, so no matter what they do its considered IP...........

What is Intellectual Property?
Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce.

People tend to use it as shorthand for existing IP. Developed and proven IP.

Even though it’s not accurate, as everything they build is IP.

Sure .. but it is always used in this context to mean "content that comes from a non-parks source FIRST" -- like a movie. Sure the Haunted Mansion is Disney IP .. but it started as an original idea. There wasn't a movie or book associated with it.

Expedition Everest is "original" .. Disney Springs (and its backstory) is "original" .. etc.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is an interesting combo -- based in existing IP, but tons of characters, places and backstory made specifically for the parks.

Yep not a line they cross, it’s shifting elsewhere. Cut back on hours and I’ll find something else to do to fill that time. That’s how I wound up at Fun Spot. Cut shows? Alright I’ll check out Dollywood instead. No park hopping? Okay I’ll just start the day at SeaWorld instead. Then I just realize how much I also like those places and just keep going back there as well.

This would be unfortunate for Paris:

Pass. At the moment the WDSP RotR is possibly on hold. Hopefully not for long.

Two arguments I think.

1) Should IP be brought into AK?
2) If we're bringing in IP to the park, what kind of IP should be allowed?
1) Too late to ask that question. Its already there. FOLK, Finding Nemo stage show, Pandora to name a few.
2) I really don't care as long as they make it interesting. I'm not a "purist" as far as that goes.

1) SHould or not .. Disney won't add anything to AK without it being attached to IP. Disney has so much IP and frankly I don't see them wanting to spend money on a park expansion that can't sell merchandise for Budget Bob Chapek. So .. I personally think they should not bring IP in .. and expand AK with just another continent .. and maybe throw some IP in there (like how Festival of the Lion King is in Africa). A new area simply needs to be immersive (which Dinoland, USA is not) .. like a rainforest in South American.

2) If they are bringing in IP?
- Indiana Jones (easy fit for a South American 'continent')
- Jungle Book (but that would go to expanding Asia)
- Duck Tales

Regarding 1 - I don't really mind adding IP to the parks as long as it's well done. Everything everywhere is Disney IP, but I agree that it should fit with in the park.

My vote is on Duck Tales, but I'm not sure what future they have in that IP.

I'd push back on the "eroding loyalty" statement in regards to adding Zootopia to a park. Seems a little strong.

On 1 - absolutely. I personally think this question is redundant. And I agree on #2, give me something that's fun and makes my kids laugh and I'm good to go.

I'm not attacking you, but the list of little (and BIG) things that I could point to that "erode the loyalty" since my first park visit in the 90s would be a LONG list. They do manage to add some things over time that bring me back time and again. The COVID era erosion left a big scar that will take quite a while to heal.

In the grand scheme of things, is it best for WDW to appease the 5% or to incorporate sound business practices and try to attract 95%? I mean really, regardless of anyone's feelings, most folks would say (1) AK is Animal Kingdom and (2) Zootopia is about animals - what's the problem here? And you can watch their eyes glaze over when you try to explain why it doesn't fit. Just my opinion.

fully agree ... doesn't mean I won't grumble if it happens :)

as for "erode the loyalty" - definitely some changes contribute to that and other changes rebuild it - or at least rebuild excitement and other emotions. Hard to deny some of the amazing new places that have been built over the past few decades even if other changes made one is not super happy about/agreeable with

Well considering they just cancelled Ducktales, I don’t see them working to bring that into the parks.

Duck Tales could be "timeless" though since it has lived over many decades in two different forms .. even longer if you count the old Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge comics (from the 50s) that Duck Tales was based on.

I mean .. Disney made a Little Mermaid ride even though the movie was 20 years old at the time.

I think there is a big difference between "Duck Tales" and other Disney Channel cartoons that only last a few years because it uses long-time Disney characters for the most part (with some "new" ones like Launchpad).

Is it enough to make a whole land out of? Maybe. But a ride for sure.

Love the UP! and Wall-E ideas
and LOVE the idea of Raya in the future....

My foolish heart is still waiting for a new pavilion in EPCOT but man a new land at AK would make me pretty happy too!

I would also just love some more cohesive theming in HS in the old hollywood areas but...dream big I guess right?

This shift is healthy for us as we are now able to explore more of central Florida than ever before. And I am finding our experiences are gravitating further and further away from the theme parks.

There are two Epcot attractions coming.... World Showcase Adventure reskin has been confirmed to still be a go even with the current show only having six episodes left ... there is also an attraction which is supposed to of been part of play pavilion but who knows that attraction status
