Park reservation without a ticket attached?

Just booked our rescheduled trip from our canceled 2020 trip. Tried calling Disney but the hold time was crazy.

I have 5 park hopper tickets (cards), not attached to MDE yet and I bought 2 days on the current package. MDE let me reserve park days for the entire length of our stay even though those reservations were not attached to these park hoppers cards. Is that correct? Are you able to reserve whatever parks you need but you just better show up with tickets to enter?

Also, we don’t have any old magic bands hanging around so we would need to purchase. But are they really necessary? I read that we would need to go to guest services to get our park tickets on a card. Thoughts on not getting the bands this time?

Thank you

1. That would not be "normal."
2. Not that I know to be the case. You need a valid ticket for each day on which you are making a reservation.
3. They never have been "necessary" for most park functions.
4. You do not "need" to do that. Just have your ticket numbers ready (and a legal photo ID) as you enter the first park gate.
5. Up to you. There are very few reasons to "need" a MB these days.

That sounds highly unusual. I’d be concerned about losing reservations that don’t have a ticket linked.

MB aren’t necessary, but I feel they are more convenient than digging in your pocket for a phone or card.

Did you purchase the tickets directly through Disney? If so, they likely populated directly into your MDE account even if you requested a hard ticket card be mailed. Nothing is "attached" to the cards (or a magicband). The tickets, resort reservation, park reservations, etc. are all linked within MDE.

I had a similar issue... yes the hold time was crazy, and ten they put me on a call back list as the cast member who answered was unable to assist with the issue?? Anyway, they called me back about an hour later and resolved it. It is frustrating to be on hold, but in the end it worked out for me..... sending you pixie dust
