I think comparing the measles outbreak in 2015 (127 cases/people in the US) to this pandemic (65K cases yesterday alone, 29.4 million in the past year) is not equivalent.everything else rather than worry about the pandemic because if you recall when Disneyland had a measles outbreak did they close the park? The correct answer's no.
The state of CA has been very clear that closing the theme parks and keeping them closed was not about money. The reason why Disneyland is still closed and will remain possibly closed is due to money being a factor...
There is absolutely nothing profitable in closing down for a year. The reason why Disneyland is still closed and will remain possibly closed is due to money being a factor and the raising prices of tickets and I can bet that when Disneyland finally opens up things will be different that will make Disneyland more difficult to visit than ever. Also due to the pandemic they will probably have sets of rules but not as strict as Walt Disney World has done. But think about all the lost business from all the Anaheim hotels and motels that will gain more customers back and I think once Disneyland reopens all the motels and hotels around the Disneyland area will start making tons of business again and it will explode like fireworks and business will start booming. But what I think has hurt Disneyland a lot is not only the pandemic but the fact that any time you go on a Disneyland trip you'll notice that they have limited runs of the shows and are famous for broken down rides all of the time. I think Disneyland should've just closed and done a refurbishment of all the rides and everything else rather than worry about the pandemic because if you recall when Disneyland had a measles outbreak did they close the park? The correct answer's no. So I think Disneyland might be doing a mistake by opening the park and they should keep it closed until further notice until all refurbishments are done. For comparison look at the theme park Western Playland in El Paso TX because they are having similar problems like Disneyland and haven't reopened either. I can tell you that once Disneyland finally reopens for good you will see travel agencies and Anaheim hotels and motels having special discounts and deals because when on Disneyland's reopening day people will rush through the gate and it will become like the game show Supermarket Sweep when people race to grab a spot for the park opening ceremony

Whew, I thought it was me.None of this makes any sense.
The correct answer to why Disneyland is planning to reopen April 1st is because Easter is on April 4th and I can tell you that when Disneyland opens again it will be packed when Easter hits and Spring Break will get them more booming business. Because when you look at it Easter is the busiest holiday for theme parks and they get high attendance like during Christmas
Disneyland is NOT opening April 1st. The state has said theme parks in a county that is Red can open April 1st. Disney has said it will take them longer. I was guessing mid-May, but Chepek has said late April, AFTER Easter and Spring breaks. The correct answer to why Disneyland is planning to reopen April 1st is because Easter is on April 4th and I can tell you that when Disneyland opens again it will be packed when Easter hits and Spring Break will get them more booming business. They aren't opening April 1st. And that wasn't even a date given by Disney. That was the state guideline for all theme parks. Disney has said end of April is their goal. All information easily attainable with the littlest bit of effort. The correct answer to why Disneyland is planning to reopen April 1st is because Easter is on April 4th and I can tell you that when Disneyland opens again it will be packed when Easter hits and Spring Break will get them more booming business. ‘...plan to reopen...’
Exactly. So not April 1st and nothing to do with Easter.‘...plan to reopen...’...
....I'm thinking that's not entirely true:.....Florida doesn't have any mandates regarding health, so WDW was able to reopen using their own mandates (ie Masking, social distancing, etc...)
California has requirements to allow Disney to open. Not as simple as saying "Do it like WDW". I do agree with you. I feel safer in DTD and BVS than I do at my grocery store, because my county does not abide by the mandates. In CA, we can only have 25% indoor dining when we reach "Red" tiers in our county. Until then it is outdoor dining only. We have a mask mandate that says we are to wear masks. We have all sorts of limits.....I'm thinking that's not entirely true:

I'm not saying anything is right or wrong here [and I'm definitely not trying to make any political postures either] but, as someone who had visited WDW several times since the reopening [AND with a family member who is a CM at WDW] I simply do not understand why DL (or the rest of Ca. for that matter) cannot follow the lead and example of WDW's precautions put into place since July 2020. Honestly, I felt safer there than at my local supermarket. My heart breaks for the thousands of [former] DL CM's, as well as the dozens of local 'mom-and-pop' businesses who have suffered greatly over the past year.....
It appears they’ve worked, but we actually have no way of knowing if they have without contact tracing. It really just comes down to the two states approached it completely differently and everybody will have an opinion on if one did it better than other. My personal opinion is both states had room for improvement in their respective approaches.....I'm thinking that's not entirely true:
