So if we wanted to say grab food and take it to the pool, they would be able to do that for us? My girlfriends and I just booked 2 nights at BRV to have a little mommy vaca before we head over to the OC convention center for a work conference! We are so excited!
Excited for you!

Yes, Whispering Canyon was preparing meals to go. I saw a couple of people in bathing suits waiting for food.

You also could head to the food court, which was using mobile ordering.

Oh awesome! Thank you! It has been 21 years since I have been to WDW so I am beyond excited to go back, even if we only get 1 day in the parks! I'll take it!

Absolutely! We did exactly that two weeks ago.

Hi!

I have always wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge. We are going to Orlando in June, and our flight got changed, so now we are arriving a night early. I managed to book a one-bedroom at BRV, just for that night.

We will arrive at WL around 130 on Memorial Day. We will pack swim stuff in our carry-ons and are hoping to enjoy the pool until our room is ready. I do have some questions about our stay!

1. Is there any chance of the pools being at capacity since the main Lodge is scheduled to be closed until June 6th?

2. On June 1, we will wake up early for what I assume will be an 8am MK opening. We would rather take the boat to MK. Will that put us too far behind the opening crowd? We can take the bus if we have to, but the boat seems more fun.

3. Is there a store on site that we could get some things the night before to eat for breakfast the next morning? I'm thinking maybe things like yogurt, bananas, fruit, etc. We are normally DL people so I'm thinking maybe something like Whitewater Snacks at the Grand Californian?

4. Is the Electrical Water Pageant worth making plans to see?

5. On our morning or checkout, will bell services come and get our luggage and hold it until we leave for the day? Or do I have to bring it to them? Not sure how it works with DVC.

6. I am allowed to make room requests. Is there something I should request for a 1 bedroom at BRV?

Thank you for all the pictures and information in this thread already! I have loved learning!

Highly unlikely as the parks will be main focus of most guests.

Some what of a toss up. The buses will start slightly earlier and the line at the boat dock can be quite long but varies on a day by day basis.
3. Is there a store on site that we could get some things the night before to eat for breakfast the next morning? I'm thinking maybe things like yogurt, bananas, fruit, etc. We are normally DL people so I'm thinking maybe something like Whitewater Snacks at the Grand Californian?
The Mercantile is the store in the main lodge and has a wide variety of breakfast items up to and including bacon since you have a 1 BR. They also have frozen items and bagels, muffins, yogurt, bananas, fruit. Pop-tarts, Pancake mix and maple syrupy, eggs... you get the idea.
4. Is the Electrical Water Pageant worth making plans to see?
Yes and you can watch if from multiple locations every night. Check the schedule for the latest updates as it may make a stop at the MK in addition to the WL. It is is a nice way to end your arrival day. The area around Geyser point is very popular to watch the EWP.
5. On our morning or checkout, will bell services come and get our luggage and hold it until we leave for the day? Or do I have to bring it to them? Not sure how it works with DVC.
You can call but you will need to wait for them or you can drop your bags on at bell services on your way out in the morning.
6. I am allowed to make room requests. Is there something I should request for a 1 bedroom at BRV?
It depends on how you booked your 1 BR DVC? If you booked directly from Disney you call them to make any requests. If you booked through DVC you need to contact Member Services.

I know that the boats from WL to the Contemporary are currently not running, but are there buses like there are between WL and FW? I have a semi-late WCC reservation and I’m trying to figure out transportation if it‘s too late to take the boat/bus to MK and then walk back to my room.

No there is no bus that will return you to the CR from the WL. The boats and buses to the MK stop about 1 hour after park close. How late is your WCC reservation?

It’s at 7:50. If the hours end up getting extended and the park closes at 9, then I was thinking that I’d only have until then to catch a ride back to MK. But if the boats/buses run to MK for an hour after close, then I’ll be fine and won’t have to rush through my meal. Plus, riding the boat at night is my favorite way to travel. Thank you!

Thank you all for all of your help. We are so, so excited.

I am assuming the MK will open at 8 during our visit. I am reading here on the boards that the MK has been opening about 45 minutes before posted opening. If so, and we see at the bus stop at 645, is that enough time to get there by opening? Too much? I'm not sure as to what is reasonable.
