Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

Thanks, @Wood Nymph. This would be extremely helpful if I could order the so-called allergy Mickey waffles on mobile ordering, however, I just went to Gaspy's mobile ordering menu and there's no way to select that. (BTW, I'm vegan, and the allergy waffles are vegan.) Very disappointing. I guess I'll be going there in person. Early.

Yeah, the one bad thing about QS mobile ordering is you can’t get allergy items on it. You still have to order in person.

I know that used to be the case pre- Covid, but do you know if that is the still the case everywhere now because my DH just attempted to make a gluten free order at one of the theme parks the other day on his phone and it appeared to be letting him do it?? I can't remember what restaurant it was (I think Cosmic Rays), but obviously he didn't actually send the order through so I have no idea if it would have actually worked or not?? If you can't do mobile order in the parks, how will you even get food? I haven't been since Disney closed last March so I hope someone has first-hand experience with food allergies, etc. in the parks in the new Covid era?!

I haven't been yet, but I just looked at the mobile-order menu for Gaspy's on my phone. That's how I found it the waffles couldn't be done. At the right time of day, you could just check on MDX and see if the option is available for any particular restaurant.

I checked the mobile menu for a gluten-free menu before I responded to the initial question. It was before 11am and the breakfast menu was still available. But I couldn’t find the option for allergy friendly menu items. I texted my sister and will let you know what she said. :)

At the resorts. Many of the in-park restaurants do have their allergy menus available so if it is a simple single allergy (like gluten/wheat) you can use it there. But at resorts simply tell them you have an allergy order and you should be allowed to the cash register.

That’s definitely new with covid. I wish they would add the ingredient info from the big binders online somewhere, it would be a godsend.

Hello there,
I had a question, I found out that if you want to reserve a poolside patio that you can only do it the day you want to reserve it? That's at least what the guest services told me when I waited 90 minutes on hold. thanks for the help!

Ugh - 90 minutes! At least it's fun tunes! When I called a few months ago, they said I could rent either the cabana or the patio at 60 days, but when I called back in April at 60 days, I only inquired about the cabana. In the meantime, the prices went up so maybe they made some changes to the patio reservations? :confused3 I just looked on the website and they don't even have any info about them on the GF page, just the cabanas - and a link regarding reservations for the cabanas. I was thinking I might call tomorrow about availability of patios for another day, so I will inquire!

Interesting, I called last week wanting to reserve one and was told none were available. I assumed somehow they had sold out. Wasn't told that I just couldn't book it that far out. I ended up booking a cabana instead.

Are the room aesthetics pretty much universal throughout the standard hotel rooms/buildings or have some been recently refurbed?
Also, does anyone know when the main building rooms open back up?

I just figured it out. It is the dates because if you put in your dates the lagoon is available for the reduced rate but if you put in mine it isn't. Interesting.
Yeah, we're going when Florida is only slightly hotter than the surface of the sun. Probably not as much of a demand then. 🤣

All rooms will be the same fit/finish/style.

Unfortunately no word on CL, so no word on when main building rooms will open up for booking. They have been assigning some guests rooms in the main building, you just can’t book there for now.

Hope that helps.

With no current dining plan available, does anyone know if you can still purchase the refillable mug to get soda and coffee refills in?

If so do you just purchase on your first visit?

TY

We were set to arrive at the Contemporary on Tuesday but just recently found out about the crazy construction noise happening in the lobby so I just switched us to the GF! When we stayed there last, pre-covid -- Gasparilla's was open 24 hours for snacks, is this still the case? Thanks!

Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. It looks like their current hours for May are 6am-11pm. You can check here for additional hours and current menu: Gaspy’s. Enjoy!

yes they’re available. When we went last year we were able to mobile order them through the app. This was at Riviera so I’m not sure about GF but assuming the same.
