Is this the 2 day thing where you go to learn travel tips and credit card stuff from the pros? If so, older DD went in DC a couple of years back pre-C and it was 'okay' for the $75 (I think) it cost her but she didn't learn anything she didn't already know, and the big names weren't really the headliners. She found it kind of boring. Wouldn't go again. The big plus was getting some free time away from kids for herself.

It is different that that (although I've always wanted to check those out too) - it's more like the home and garden show type even in a convention center. It looks like they have lots of "booths" set up and 3 stages set up for speakers throughout the day. The one I'd want to see is Samantha Brown. I haven't watched much of her stuff, but she seems fun! https://travelshows.com/

Hey y'all! Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Pay Yourself Back since the current categories are listed as expiring at the end of the month? Are you hanging on to your URs for travel or cashing out? Personally I'm torn between hanging on to them "just in case" (even though I don't need any URs for any future travel), but on the other hand my home improvement budget could definitely use a cash infusion right now!
I cash out every UR I can as quickly as I can. Since they are easy to replenish, I'll just earn more tomorrow (or within the next 90 days)! LOL!

just curious how you replenish? And how do you cash them out?
Well replenishment is the same as it's ever been... if you're under 5/24, the INK is barely dry before new cards are in my mailbox... 🤣

Cash Out is more complex... but a ton of things. Every restaurant and grocery purchase on CSR. Buy Gift cards at grocery stores - Disney GCs when that trip comes up. Some Gift Card arbitrage when opportunities present themselves.

Seems we have a hard time getting more UR cards LOL, I kinda figured it was back to one card per player at this point?
I buy groceries at Target, so PYB won't work for that. Thank you though, I was just wondering what you did. I like to have mine available for travel, assuming we can actually travel again at some point. Unless of course they yank the program, then I am toast LOL.

My husband's SUB posted to his CSP yesterday (yay! It actually worked after that long process he had to go through!) and now I'd like to have them combined with mine so they're all in one place but I am not sure what the latest info is on that. Does it still work to SM them and just ask for them to be combined since we are in the same household, or no?

I've been researching ways to get the 4 of us in business class, but I don't think that will be possible on ANA. The most I'm seeing is 1 ticket available (looking via United), even when I try on the ANA site all I'm seeing is 1 available business seat. Hopefully things will get better once Japan opens up 🤞 ... we aren't going until summer 2023.

I am seeing good JAL Business availability through AA, but that's 60K miles each way. We'll only have enough AA miles for one-way business.

I booked 4 in biz on JAL with BA Avios transferred from MR. It's more expensive than AA at 77,250 Avios one way and the taxes/fees are more too, but BA releases earlier than AA. I have enough for one way with AA too, but decided to not chance it. BA is less flexible than AA since there's a redeposit fee of $55/ticket.

Yeah just SM and tell them the accounts you want to transfer to and from and the amount of points and they'll transfer the points.

I'm with you on saving a bit for travel. We did book hotel for DLR next year thru Chase portal. Can't meet spend on new ink either. $7500 or $15000 may have happened in past few months when we moved but I (DH) got CSP. Now we've met that I need a new plan but not sure where to go.

Everything I put on the CSR that qualifies is cashed out. Needed a new lawn mower so that went on the CSR. I’ve done about 200k and have > 1m points remaining. I do use on travel as well But not specifically saving. my redemptions are normally on domestic hotels and rental cars. I’m not looking for Biz seats to Europe or Japan so not worried about missing out on great redemptions. I just move my credits to my travel budget and count against those out of pocket expenses.

Looking for insight. Been playing this game for about 6 years, first time myself or P2 have been below 5/24 since it was implemented (although i dont actually fall back under for a couple months). P2 opened first ever chase card about 2 months ago so she is fresh with chase... My dilemma is since I do not MS, I am limited by the MSR and I have two options right now.

1. CIC with 20k support (P2)

or

2. Amex NLL Delta Plat (P1) + Chase Marriott 3 nights 50k (P2) - Personally, I am at 5 cc limit (just opened gold biz NLL) so I would have to close a card to do this... and the personal chase would put P2 at 5/24 but only for a couple months so makes no difference.

Delta I typically fall back to using through delta vacations for disney hotels and the marriott card is substantially more valuable to me now than it has been in years considering the onsite benefits the swolphin has (which is 100% where these certs would be used)

Any thought on direction? Going with 1, is that too soon after establishing relationship with chase? I also feel that even if this isnt the case, I would avoid applying for anything else here for a while.

OMG, how did I not know this? I've read like a million blog post, maybe I just ignored it since it take so many miles + fees. But this is totally doable since I can transfer from Chase and Amex. We could try AA for one direction and BA for the other.

I was also looking at flying Delta Premium Comfort for 72,000 Skypesos + $12, to/from our home airport. And as long as AMEX doesn't blacklist us we shouldn't have trouble earning Skypesos/MRs.

Well now there's a place to use my Avios that I don't seem to otherwise have a use for....

I really need to get a goal again but it's been sort of depressing for me thinking about all the places we can't travel (internationally) right now.

My home equity/refi loan was approved! Yay, now I can apply for a new Chase Ink card. Do y'all think I should wait till after the loan closes? I don't think the bank will be checking our credit again before closing. I am thinking there will be less "new stuff" on my credit report if I go ahead and apply now.

"What card should I get?"

I'm partial to Chase and seem to have a good relationship with them. Right now I have no solid plans of any specific travel because I've sort of given up on getting to Japan any time soon (although a couple of you are giving me a bit more hope, as you are also trying to get back to Japan some day). So my vague "plan" is just to accrue as many URs as possible, I guess.

I currently have 3 open CIC's , the most recent of which was opened 2/26/21.
I also have an open CSP (7/12/20() and a Chase BA personal (6/9/21).

I may or may not have a P2, who finally was able to open a CSP around June 30 (his approval process was so drawn out that I don't actually know what the approval date was).

Do you think the best bet for more URs is to see if I can refer my P2 for an Ink card, using one of my CIC's? He is more than 90 days out from his last Chase APPLICATION but probably not from the actual APPROVAL. I can't remember if Chase is picky about the time between biz and personal applications. Plus, I read they've been more strict on business card approvals in recent months... do you think the fact that he (finally) has a personal card with them would help in that regard? He would have a sole proprietor "business."

If that's not a good idea (or if it's a good idea but he doesn't get approved), does anyone have a different suggestion for me?
