For anyone interested Staples will have the no fee $200 VGCs 1/16 to 1/22

Thank you for posting this, I really need to pick up a few VGC's.

Yuck. They're threatening freezing rain and ice here. And this is dd's first winter in Atlanta and she refused to take boots or her North Face back with her, so I'm hoping they get a blizzard (just kidding but I think she thinks she's going to college in Southern Florida).

Lol! Remind her of the time they got a few inches and it crippled the interstates and people slept in the grocery store. We had people in our Atlanta office that slept at the office because they couldn't get home. Winter doesn't come often but when it does they all loose their minds. :rotfl2:

Does anyone know if Walmart and Target grocery orders code as grocery? I know normally Walmart and Target don't but I thought I saw that if you do a grocery pickup it does.

Retention DPs (via chat). DH got 40k for $3000 spend on both his plats. Was hoping for 55-60k for $4000. AF hasn't posted yet, so will try again.

Asked for retention on my Bonvoy biz and it was weird. Chat didn't transfer me to Membership Consulting and told me there were no offers. Kind of wondering if they looked in the right place. Said they put a note on my account and if any new offers come up, my account will be reviewed. Never had anyone tell me that. 🤷‍♀️ Will try again some other time. There are DPs of a $200 no spend offer. Plus the 15k and 30k/$2000 one. Not sure which one I'd rather have. If I ever get an offer lol. This is my second time trying already.

Anyone have luck get Rakuten to track on GC orders at Office Depot? I have a 10% offer and an extra 4% at Rakuten might be worth it.

Well now I have 2 sick kids at my house (it's the ex's week, but I think we all know moms are better when kids are sick, LOL). Waiting on test results on both now. So far for the BF it's a mild cold. My kids have cold symptoms too. And I just have a headache that feels like my brain being squeezed.

I have often joked with DH about an OF lol. Or feet pics to pay for disney

I'm telling you, I've been very tempted to look into some of these things. I mean they has to be a market for teacher feet and underwear, right? LOL. I have a miner (crypto) which has earned about $1500 since September. Maybe it can pick up the pace too, LOL.

DD23 just got over covid. She was really tired for 2 days. Then had really bad congestion, sore throat and cough, with a murderous headache that triggered a migraine for another 2 days and she was done! Not even testing positive on the antigen tests anymore. I hope you all feel better.

I am thinking of using the AMEX Plat $200 Hotel Credit at Portofino Bay when we go to Universal this summer. For those who have stayed 1 night there and received the Experience Credit of dinner for 2 did you have a choice of which restaurant you ate at? Thank you.

Quick Trip Report - for those that were wondering about cruising.
Carnival Mardi Gras - Jan 2-8th. (Me, DD20, DS22 and DS Girlfriend 21) Out of Port Canaveral

First we had to do a Covid Test within 48 hours of the cruise. I had ordered the Binax Now Home Tests that are proctored. Did on kids laptop. (thought it would be easier than phone). Person on the other side watches you do the test and the camera has to stay on the test for the entire time. Results in 15 minutes. They go over results and email them to you. Very easy.

Flights were on SW. (points of course). They were a disaster!!!
Day before the cruise we get a notice that our flight was cancelled. Shortly after another notice they rebooked us on an earlier flight 5:30 am but with 2 stops now. Each of the flights was delayed. 2nd flight we had mechanical issues and had to get off the flight and onto a new plane. Thank goodness our 3rd flight was not a plane change so didn't matter we were late in getting in. Was never so happy to finally land in Orlando.

Flights back - Only 1 stop this time... Delayed once again. Finally made it to Chicago with 15 minutes to get on our 2nd flight. We get boarded - only to have mechanical issues again and have to get off the plane and onto a new one. Only this plane was smaller so they needed 35 volunteers to take the later flight (3 hours later). They offered $900 on LUV Vouchers plus the cost of the flight back. I told the kids to RUN.... so we each ended up with $1027 on LUV Vouchers. (only good part of the flights)

Stayed at Marriott Residence Inn Cape Canaveral. (with 2 Free night certificates). Hotel was nice and close to the port.

Cruise went well (this was the 2nd time on this ship. First was back in August). Some changes since last time. We did have to wear our masks indoors at all times unless eating or drinking. They were pretty strict on this. If we were in a lounge at a table we did not have to wear them. Outside they were not required at all.

Ports:
Nassau - Not sure why we got off the ship. Plan was to just walk around. The people were very aggressive - couldn't walk 5 steps without someone wanting to sell you goods or drugs. We finally just went to Senior Frogs for a bit then back to the ship.

Amber Cove - Just did beach/pool day at port area with some shopping. Very nice.

Grand Turk - Also, beach/pool day at port area with shopping.

Didn't really want to spend $ on excursions especially with so many things still closed down. This was just a fun getaway before DD went back to college.

All in all it was a good time. Just had a lot of stressful parts to it. As with all travel these days!!

Hope you all recover quickly. And I'm glad you could find tests. This has been a really long two years!

For those that book Delta Basic Economy award flight, be aware that they changed the cancellation policy (I think yesterday). I was about book a Basic Economy ticket at 11,000 miles, it says that if I cancel I will only get back 9,900 miles or I can book Main Cabin to make it fully refundable.

$1027 in LUV vouchers each! Nice score. You've trained your kids right to move fast!

Yes you could use it anywhere except for Bice and it does allow you to use for Room Service. Also we missed Breakfast since we were still in the park on Checkout day and I swear that the breakfast credit of $34 per person rolled to our lunch charge at the pool based on our final charges.
