Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

We will be staying at the Poly for the very first time in about six weeks. We are curious about the best way to get to the Magic Kingdom early in the day. We plan to leave the Poly about 45 minutes prior to early entry. We are on the DVC side so maybe the TTC express monorail would work best? Or maybe the resort monorail from the Ceremonial House, or maybe the boat?? What about during mid-day? I will be grateful for any input from you folks who have stayed at the Poly many times!

Thank you so much for your quick reply! I'm going to make a room request and want to make sure that we're staying in the newer rooms. If you had to choose would you chose Niue or Rarotonga?

FYI, all the hotel-side rooms are updated, so no worries there.

Niue is cool, but so so tiny and I have a bit of a complex with wanting a balcony or patio, so Rarotonga first or third floor would get my vote. Niue only has two floors. Rarotonga is arguably a bit quieter as well.

My family and I will be staying at the Poly for the first time in August and we'd like to stay in either Niue of Rarotonga. Have the rooms in these buildings been updated to the Moana theme and does the 2nd floor of these buildings have balconies with chairs? Thanks in advance!
You will love Rarotonga or Niue. We have stayed in Rarotonga 5 times and Niue once. Our room in Niue was my favorite room we've ever had location wise - it was on the first floor and looked out to the grassy area where they show the nightly movies.

I was doing my ADRs today and there are no dinner reservation showing for Kona Cafe all week. I even went back and spot checked some other dates. i am not seeing anything after 06/07. I doesn't seem normal to not see anything at all for Kona, especially at 60 day mark looking at 66 days out,

Hate to speculate but I for one would be more than thrilled if Kona got a refurb. It’s time. In my humble opinion.

I see from the monthly resort activities pictures that Make / Paint a Tiki Mask is offered. Anyone have any information on this activity? Cost, size of mask, etc. Pictures earn you bonus points!

Thanks!

I am so excited!! My family was booked at CSR - GDT club level but I wasn't feeling it and secretly wanted the Poly. There had not been any openings. I checked again this morning and nothing. Checked at lunch and scored a standard view room!! WooHoo!! Saved us $300 too. We haven't stayed at the Poly since 2009. I have been wanting to go back for years and years. :lovestruc Now stalking the boards.

Hi Everyone!
We're trying to book the Polynesian (studio) for early next year. When we stayed there some years back, the bathroom was actually 2 rooms (shower/sink in one, toilet/tub/sink in the other) which REALLY helped to get everyone ready in the morning. But when I look at the club level studios, it seems like the bathroom is all in one room there.
I know this must sound like a silly question but it will have a big impact on our choice of room type.
Can anyone help clarify? With all of the recent renovations there, I can't get a clear answer from Disney.
Many thanks!

What kind of coffee maker do they have in the DVC studios? Do they all have the 50th Anniversary coffee?
DVC studios normally have a drip coffeemaker that takes the flat coffee filter packs (provided) or your own coffee and flat bottom filters. In the past, studios had 4 cup coffeemakers but I’m frequently seeing reports of 12 cup being there instead.
