Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

Hello! I'm planning my second trip to WDW. Last time we got a great room close to the bus station at Sports, as requested. This time we would like to get similar rooms. I think Buzz building is the closest to the bus stop (we have preferred rooms), and we need communicated rooms too. Any idea of which rooms should we ask for and how can we make that request? I think last time we sent a Fax but I don't really remember it. Thank you!

Do you mean Connecting Rooms? If so, honestly I'd make that your only request if it is a must for you. The more requests you have, the harder it is for them to be met, regardless of how you make them. If you're going to request a building as well (assuming that you mean "Connecting" - otherwise I'm lost as to what a "Communicated Room" is), I'd make sure that the request is clear that Connecting Rooms are most important.

Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry for my English ^_^U. I guess we'll discuss what's more important to us. Thanks for the advice!

No worries - I wasn't sure if there was some new type of room. :)

You can certainly make more than one request if you want - just prioritize them. BUT if something like connecting rooms is a deal-breaker, it should be your ONLY request - and even then there are no guarantees.

My sister tried to reserve a room for the second week of May 2023 at All Star Movies over the phone yesterday, but was told it wasn't available for those dates. So we're in Pop.

Why would ASM not be available for that week? Could it be completely booked up already, even before the rooms go online?
Could be band, cheer or school groups.

Does anyone know if they have box fans available to borrow?

We usually borrow one at Pop without any problems, but the one time we stayed at an All Star (Music), they said they had no fans and looked at me like I was crazy for asking!

We check into All Star Movies this Saturday!

Hi, can anyone confirm how late the food court is open? We arrive at MCO at 8:45pm, taking Mears bus to ASMo. Am I silly to think the food court will still be open when we get there? Allears is reporting that it's open until midnight, but... that seems late to me.

If you look at the listing for the food court on the Disney website, it will tell you the hours for the day you're looking at. I looked at a few as a sample and they're all saying 6:30am-11:00pm. Hope this helps!

The value resort food courts used to always be open to midnight, so the current 11pm seems early to me. :)

Not sure where to look for a review on ASMo or ASMu. If anyone has any tips/reviews I’d appreciate it. Planning a trip for October/November and I have never stayed at either

What kinds of things are you interested in knowing about? We have always enjoyed our stays at Movies. My best tip is to book a Standard Room at Movies, request the Mighty Ducks section (not a guarantee that you'll get it but we always have), and then you are literally right next to Music and can walk over and use their buses and food court. We also find that it's quieter back in Mighty Ducks. You're still not that far from the main building at Movies either so you basically get two resorts for buses, food court, and swimming. It's a great hack that I learned from these boards!

We used one in Sept. We always request one. It seems to.me if the resort has ceiling fans they're much less likely to have box fans, but we've always gotten them at the resorts without ceiling fans.

First time staying at Movies. Online, there is no option to request a king/disabled room. Do you have to call?
In short, yes. My experience with multiple resorts is that the room request options available through online check-in are incomplete. You have to call to request any other options that aren't listed there. Not sure why it's always an incomplete list!

It's funny- I always dismissed the "All-Star" resorts as uninteresting and same-y after reading some reviews (like it was the bottom of the Disney barrel), but when I booked Movies due to cost reasons, I was shocked to see a resort with some VERY fun-looking themes and statues about! And all Disney-themed! For some reason I was picturing like... generic movie-themed stuff.

It seems like it's only a tiny bit cheaper than POP normally, and isn't really any worse unless you LOVE the Skyliner (I do not; as a solo traveller I don't like being stuck in with whole families on a gondola for several minutes at a time, lol). Trip times seemed about equal looking at a few sites- is this accurate?

We have a preferred room at Movies in late August (it was the cheapest option with the D+ discount). Any view/room recommendations? We prefer 3rd floor. How "blocked" are the views from the icons? Right now I'm thinking 3rd floor Fantasia, overlooking the pool.
