Ahh you will probably be fine like us at least that's my hope. Seems like it's just a storm for now 🤞
I’m hoping it isn’t bad but I feel like they might be down playing it some. I don’t know how it can go from a cat 5 to a tropical storm by the time it hits us. I’m thinking it might be more like a cat 1. Where are you at?

It needs open warm water to fuel itself. Once it's over land it starts to lose power. It's a slow moving storm, hence the high rain estimates. That'll also weaken it since it's over land.

I'd be way more worried about all the rain than the wind where you are. You guys at least have the advantage of all thrle daily storms so the ground isn't dry which will help absorb some until it can't. Our ground is so dry due to our extremely dry summer that if we don't ease into the rain and get a day with an inch or more of rain well have mudslides. Grounds too dry to absorb much and it takes forever.

Have you dropped the level of your pool so it doesn't flood?

For those that have been to Paris recently, how widely accepted is Amex at restaurants? Still working on DH's Amex Gold MSR and hoping to put the rest of the spend during our Paris trip.
I assume Amex is accepted at DLP?

Have lots of MSRs that we are working on:
My Amex Gold $500
DH's Amex Gold $1,000
DH's CIC $4,000
Plus going to have DH apply for Barclays AA Biz card ($2,000 MSR) since we won't be able to use the CIC in Paris.

We just have to wait and see what happens but I’m guessing it’ll hit us as a hurricane and not a tropical storm. This storm is so big. We’re in a hurricane warning right now with some tornado watches. I’m definitely worried about the flooding. Some roads here flooded a couple weeks ago just from afternoon storms.

We drained the pool about a foot yesterday and it’s almost full again

Dh said no shutters this morning at 6 am because no one else is putting them up. Then at 9 he asked me if we should put them up. He’s putting them up now 😆 Our neighbors have a lot of junk in their yard that they decided not to pick up. So far just a lot of rain and some wind
Stay safe…my son lives in Orlando…the apartment manager emailed saying they expect to lose power for over 48 hours :sad1:

I'm approaching 50% of household income with Chase. My combined credit limits are less than 1K from 50%. So I guess it's time to decrease my CL somewhere before applying for another Ink card. How long should I wait after lowering CL before applying? And how much to lower? 5k? Thanks!

Pretty sure "P2" is going to apply for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard (whew what an unwieldy name!). It's 60k miles for $3k spend in 3 months, which we plan to knock out in one transaction, thanks to a hefty dog surgery bill coming up in a few weeks. A couple questions, as this would be our first Citi card:

1. Is Citi typically stingy with credit limits, or am I likely to get at least a $3k credit limit? I'm coming off the heels of the Barclay's AAdvantage and Wyndham cards, both of which gave me a whopping $1k credit limit.

2. This card is free the first year and a $99 AF the second year. My plan is to sock drawer it after the big spend and then cancel it at the one-year mark. Any unforeseen negative consequences of doing this (am I burning a bridge with Citi if I do this with our first and only card with them? I've never been that tempted by Citi cards, but I'd like to keep the possibility of future cards open, but maybe not at a cost of $99).

Thanks for any input!

Yesterday I had none of those flash deals at Chase, today p2 has them on one credit card and the checking account.

These are found in the same place as regular offers in the app? I checked all our cards and there were none. How does it show that it's a "flash deal"?

Finally got some this morning. They look like this.

Thanks! Just found some on DH's IHG card, good until 10/8 (out of 9 personal cards between us) Jimmie Johns, Dollar Tree, Best Buy, Home Depot, Shell. They were not there yesterday either.

Also now on one CIU, adding CVS, Macy's, and McDonalds to HD and BB. Guess I need to go shopping this weekend.

And now DH got the email about 10X on gas and 5X at Amazon and grocery stores on his IHG and Marriott cards. Too bad it's not on a UR card, I'm not sure we will bother using these. We hardly use gas, I have tons of Amazon credit from my Swagbucks activity, and have 6% cash back on groceries with Amex now.

I had 2 lames one, McDonalds and Macy's.

Also, check your Chase MyBonus. I had it on my Hyatt 10X at Gas Stations (hope Costco gas counts) and 5X on groceries.
Between DH and I we have 16 Chase cards, only 1 had the Flash offers. McD, Macy, Best Buy, Home Depot, CVS and Jimmy John's. All on one card and they weren't there yesterday.

Also for the cobranded cards, I got an email for my SW card for 10x points on gas, 5x at Amazon and groceries for 10/1-12/31. But when I check the Chase My Bonus link it still shows the current offer good thru 9/30 so I should probably check all my cards again 10/1.

I wouldn't mind it on my Hyatt card. They're always on co-branded cards, never on UR cards.

Got this same offer via email for my IHG Premier card.

ETA: Just re-checked all our Chase cards again (since yesterday), and these flash deals were on two of them now - IHG Premier and CIU.
