Your Predictions re Changes to DVC now that Iger is back as CEO

It's almost a little sad that we just want things back that we had for years - not even asking for anything new, just asking for things that we loved that were taken away. This would require no creativity on the part of Disney, and would make loyal customers (like DVC owners) instantly happy -
- bring back AP's - sold w/ DVC discount AND includes memory maker
- bring back magical express
- bring back FP and dump Genie +
- no more park reservations, and definitely no limits on park hopping

Just 3 years ago, we had all of these things, the Disney company was doing well.

I think the 'easy' PR points could be earned with eliminating park reservations and allow park hopping unrestricted again. I'll give Josh some latitude in hoping that his hands were a bit tied on these policies and I am hoping he will advocate against them going forward. I do hope they also freeze layoffs.

I wonder if EMH will change back to the way it was before. I kind of hope it doesn’t because I like the evening extended hours for deluxe only. That is one change that has been a plus for us.

I would love if genie plus went back to something like the old fast pass system. Even if we have to pay for it still

I really would like to see the park reservations and hopping only after 2:00 go away. That really messes up our vacation style.
I agree with EMH mostly because it's the only "perk" that I will have been able to take advantage of since buying DVC. I know it's not a DVC exclusive thing, but a perk of staying deluxe.

It's not a prediction, more of a wish upon a star, but I'd be over the moon if Iger could convince Joe Rhode to return to Disney to be his successor. More than any other company, Disney needs visionary leadership. I don't have negative feelings about the other executives the way some do, but none seems to have that, and Rhode could wind up being the most visionary leader since Wait himself.

And reopen the Adventurers Club :thumbsup2 (a Joe Rhode creation).

I'm not a DVC member, but I have friends that are, and we spent a week with them last month @ WDW. In old-fashioned business terminology, y'all are what's referred to as "repeat customers." IIRC my old business 101 classes from fifty years ago, I was taught those are your most important segment.
Yeah I'm older too (should have said that in the first place). What Chapek failed to acknowledge was the value of "Goodwill". I know its an outdated concept, but to go to war with you most ardent fans is beyond arrogant.

Absolutely! Wow, I can't think of anyone who can *see* what needs to be accomplished. A true artist and visionary.

I've watched you reference the AC for years and I remember where it was, though never ventured in LOL! Well, I'll add another *wish* to my list of *wishes* for you!
Yup… it’s now “The Edison”. Some drinks there are named after the characters from the Club.

It was the best attraction Disney ever had. It just happened to also be a bar.

Kungaloosh!! :teeth:

The biggest immediate effect will be the morale boost amongst CM's. There are already plenty of positive reactions in the Cast community over Bob's return. Happier CM's = a better guest experience.

After that, Bob's focus will be on the more macro moves to boost investor and shareholder confidence. The Street needs to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Lastly, I'm guessing Bob will reach out to his senior leadership team (probably sooner rather than later) and ask each of them for a moving forward plan that will increase consumer/guest confidence and mitigate the bad vibes/experience/perception created during the Chapek regime. I think THAT will be the point where we will see what Josh D'Amaro and Bill Dierkson have on their wish lists and what on those lists is ultimately implemented. Some of those moves will be easier, and quicker to be implemented and others may be slow to follow.

I'm in this camp, I know everything goes up in price. I would have squawked about paying for fast passes, but I'd have got used to it. I just can't seem to navigate G+. It's the exclusion of a lot of older guests who aren't as fluent with our cell phones.

Drop Park Reservation System - Day 1!!!
If dreams do come true!

I'd like to hear that they respect and value their repeat customers. Even something minor to placate us in the meantime while he makes other changes.

I love Joe, he's an absolute genius. but as CEO? Nah it's a completely different skill set. Now if Joe could somehow be talked into coming back as head of Imagineering, with someone like Iger as CEO that values creativity and "magic", that would be amazing. I don't see it happening, but I would love it.

I'd like all those things, too, plus the return of FP+, even if it's a paid service. I do NOT like Genie at all. :)

But do you really think Iger will make any of them happen? I don't. Hope I am wrong!
I think free FP are gone forever, but it's reasonable to expect to at list not having to suffer through the shortcoming of a paid service. No one will ever convince me opening G+ reservations at 7am is a good idea.

Love that idea but I don't think he has any "Hollywood" experience and that is required. Since the company has had such trouble with succession, maybe a hard split - a CEO for Parks/travel and a CEO for entertainment with both reporting to the COB.

If I'm not mistaken, all the wish list items mentioned so far were implemented under Bob 1.0 so he may consider some of them his babies so I don't see much changing. I would expect some quick fan friendly changes just to get back in their good graces, though - like annual passes and all day hopping but reservations and G+ are here to stay, I'm afraid.

I think the first thing Iger will do is tell the Parks division to reinstate Annual Pass sales. He needs to keep attendance numbers up. Even though AP owners may spend less per capita, they are "bodies through the gate". If Park average revenue per customer falls, Iger will blame it on the recession, or spin it that even though the average revenue per guest is down, total attributable revenue is up. This minor change will erase lots of ill will among the most loyal fans.

Of maybe they can do a hybrid of FP+ and GP+,?

Allowing some rides done ahead..less popular with other day of?
