Airmiles Armchair Chatter

@Donald - my hero we went through a similar situation with my MIL many years ago so I understand how important positive thoughts are. I feel like the past few years have been extra tough on you and your family so I truly hope you are able to eventually find some clarity and peace. My thoughts are with you.

Question…
It’s been a long time since I stayed offsite and bought a park ticket. I’ve got the email confirmation with a bar code. The tickets are now assigned in MDE. For some reason DH’s last magicband is not on my account. So what do I do with this barcode when I get to the gate? Can we both get in with one barcode or do I need to go to a ticket window first?

Your being punished for not staying onsite.....lol..kidding
If you have time the day before go to Disney Springs and get it worked out at guest services.
Or if you can read the very small print on the magic band you can try adding that to MDE and then linking the ticket.
Failing that,,yes hit up guest services at the park before entering.

I'm throwing this out there as a plea for anyone & everyone who is willing to send out positive thoughts to whatever your higher power might be, in whatever form that might take - our trip is coming fast and furious and the possibility of needing to postpone due to my mom's health is crashing down around my ears. So much uncertainty surrounding the entire issue that I'm almost immobilized by the weight of the situation. I'm forcing myself to make parks reservations and ADRs so we don't get stuck, everything other than the flights can be pushed forward if need be. I know that Disney has a great track record for non-refundable things like the After Hours events we've booked on compassionate basis, we have a room only reservation that I can easily or move, hotel at YYZ is refundable until 5 days before check-in and I didn't book transportation between either airport yet. Flights we got with miles and if those are lost, so be it.

Just hate not knowing what the next day will bring - no plans yet as to where we're headed. Mom's listed as Palliative Long Term care, needs 24/7 supervision, unable to care for herself if she's not prompted, has a bizarre grasp on time and space but is ODDLY CHEERFUL! She has a brain tumor that is growing at an unknown rate so there's really no timeline available.
Thinking of you. Working in LTC your story is very familiar. One of my best friends mom is palliative and they are trying to care for her at home and are already struggling. And another friend just texted me tonight looking for additional care ideas. It is so hard.
I went to Toronto Canada’s wonderland the day before my dad passed with his blessing and it still.. we did have a great day tho and I know that woken agave made him happy. It’s a tough decision. My heart is with you .

I am being punished. I found DH’s magicband but it can’t be added to my account. It says something about purchased or resort bands. Can’t go to Springs…our flight lands at 11:30pm the night before. I have a feeling I might regret that late flight but it’s too late now.

We ordered bands through the My Experience app. The family mostly chose the more expensive ones with theming on them but DH and I ordered $10 ones. Wonder if you could do that. I can’t remember if you are staying on site.

Staying offsite...right at the moment forget what I booked, either the Hampton or Fairfield. Anyway, it wouldn't make much sense to buy bands just for one day. I've got such a collection of them. While packing yesterday I found a big stack of the original bands. Funny, when they changed them we were really ticked off that Canadians were still getting the old ones. Looking at them yesterday....they are so much smaller, would be nice to go back to that. Since DH never goes to WDW with us I think he only has 2 bands (that's all I found) and I think the last one was from our trip in 2019 when we only went to MNSSHP. So I can't figure out why that band is not on my account....there would have been a party ticket attached to it.

proof that the gift cards trigger the Mastercard offer at Metro. I haven't bought a lot due to the uncertainty of the offer and the fact that we don't like to have a bunch of money tied up like thisView attachment 734420
How does this break down, do you know? I have done the $250 shop twice, both on weekends, and today I had 250 AMs post. Just wondering if this is for the first one and the second one is still to come or if I have an issue.

I bought a $500 GC and only got 250 miles posted to my account. There is a slight chance that I've never used my MC at Metro but somehow I doubt it. Not sure if that is how this offer works or if it's 250 for the first purchase on this offer. Either way I should have 500.

Edit...is it 250 plus 500?

and I was busy over the weekend packing and didn't get back to buy another card. So I'll be making darn sure I get there Thursday on my way to the airport. Fingers crossed that we do not get the snow that is forecast for Thursday.

The first time you do the offer you get the "bonus" of 250 AM. As long as you spent at least $25 on your CC.
The following weekends, you get the proper amount.
So it seems like you only did it one weekend, and got the bonus.

It’s great to see you are all getting your AMs, but weird how the amount is not accurate for the larger amounts. How soon after are the AMs getting posted? I did not get anything yet. I think I need to look for my receipt, now I’m wondering if I remembered to scan my card, pretty sure I did use my MC.

I just reread my offer and I don't see anywhere where it says you get a Bonus of 250 the first time you use it. I read on here that someone says if you spend $60 the first time you get 250, I don't see that either. I see where it says if I spend $60 I get 50 AM, $100 to get 100 AM, $250 to get 250 AM and $500 to get 500 AM.
Maybe some of us got different offers?

I'm pretty sure the T&C are the same for everyone. To quality you opt in then make an eligible purchase of $25 or more to get the 250 Bonus Miles. Then the next week you get the other amounts. Thursday to Sunday and only one purchase per week counts.
