Love honey butter with a touch of cinnamon!
there's a cup sized container of it in my freezer-you are welcome to it. not a fan, did'nt ask for it but when we did to-go from texas roadhouse last week they included it along with a box of about 20 of those sweet dinner rolls they serve :crazy2: (i prefer my rolls and butter savory).

so clearly, there is something wrong with you ... not really ... I am a savory fan as well.

Kudos to you for being a brave and honest soul! I personally feel if you are okay with paying more (due to interest) to enjoy life now that is more than ok with me! Everyone gets to choose what is right for their family.
A lot of people changed their perceptions during and due to the pandemic. I can't blame anyone for doing so (even if the poster is one who held this belief before the pandemic). I don't advocate for driving yourself to monetary misery but I also would say some people truly had/have had the experiences that show us there are times for a different way of thinking.

It's also a reason I invited (cuz really it was my idea my husband wasn't going to lol) for the in-laws to come to our Mexico trip next week..they are not getting any younger and while money isn't an issue for them I wanted to be able to have some vacation time with them even though it's our 10th anniversary trip.

omg there was a thread right about butter and texas roadhouse wasn't there?! I'm not imagining it right? I feel like I participated somewhat in that :scratchin

Aww that's too bad (that the utilities don't work well). I just paid ahead on my electric bill to help meet the spend on a new card. My electric company charges $1.75 and will allow me to pay $600 at a time. Gas company takes cards, doesn't charge a fee but won't accept advance payment.

Neither of my utilities will allow you to pay more than the balance due, unfortunately.

I google mapped Texas Roadhouse and found one about 30 minutes away. Had no idea it was there! Or that they have honey butter rolls.

I'm not a steak person but DD is. Maybe I'll talk her into going and tag along for the rolls!

will they let you do balanced payment plans? by virtue of the one i'm on for power i end up overpaying at least 7 months per year.

sign up for their vip club at least a few days before going-you will get a free appetizer (they have some good ones).

Actually it had potential to be a GREAT thread on everyone's "how do you do vacation?"

Unfortunately the parameters were so narrow that myself and many others were asked not to respond :confused3cause I guess we never fell into those parameters and know nothing of the subject that was worth contributing.

While I do not fit the parameters I do travel very economically, very much focused on saving money and try to keep up with travel deals and ideas. But like you my contributions do not meet criteria.

Perhaps we need a new thread! :grouphug: Although now that the title has changed I suppose anything goes.

Totally agree! If not for the DIS over the years and tips and tricks I've picked up through lots of lurking and research, I'd easily spend 2x as much as I do on travel (for the same trips). In fact, the first time I ever rented points was through the DISboards!

ETA I don't have much to contribute to the butter discourse :rotfl:

The parameters were too narrow. 100k could be upper class in some areas and poverty in others. I think everyone kind of knows if they fit into the middle class or above it. I don't fit into OP's parameters, but I consider myself firmly in the middle class.
Despite making more money than I did ten years ago I find Disney vacations to be getting out of reach for what you get. It's almost not worth it anymore.

In your leisure time, this might give you a chuckle or two.

I haven't made homemade butter since Kindergarten (over half a century ago) so I really don't know much about butter. Maybe it was the whole lockdown that got me cooking again, growing herbs, getting creative with the stuff in the pantry to avoid shopping too much ........... and I got crazy enough to buy a meat grinder ..... maybe making butter could be fun. I could make flavored butter too! :scratchin So maybe tiny little batches of honey butter and cinnamon butter and garlic butter .... I can create my own refillable bread basket with fancy butter.

and I got crazy enough to buy a meat grinder

meat grinders are the bomb! snag pork roasts on sale and grind it up to make bulk sausage (with allot less fat!), season into whatever type you need for a fraction of the price. heck-lately you can get beef rump roasts around us for $3.49 per pound which is FAR less expensive than ground beef (and you can achieve allot better than 93/7 ratio by trimming the roast of all it's fat first).

I make mixed meat meatloaf and boneless pork chops are less per pound than ground pork!

I like your idea, I just got a huge big freezer (sad that is what I'm excited about) and now I can grab all those pork roasts on sale. BUT we'd tire of same old same old, so good idea.

Meat grinders ... and butter churners .... what is happening!!!!! :)

RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a meat slicer too! I had one forever but sold years ago at garage sale because I never used it. Then I started bulk buying my Taylor Pork Roll to save money and needed to get another meat slicer. I slice other roasts and ham too! And for Christmas I got my first ever toaster oven - I use it more than my microwave. I think it is like being the city version of a homesteader.

And the money I save goes into my Disney pot. :mickeyjum
