DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Enjoying my second Saturday. Up at six, ran to the post office, Winn Dixie and Lowe’s. Filled the water softener with salt, rolled the garbage cans to the curb and………. that was it for me, nap time. A few hours later I’m awake.
Managed to score a reservation at Space 220 restaurant in Epcot. We will be slopping over there tonight in the rain to try it out. Should be interesting. I was shocked the reservation came up so we just grabbed it quick.
Have a good weekend everyone!

How'd you like it? Wasn't your first time there, was it?
It was good. Not something we would do all the time but it was pretty cool. That was the first time for us. The problem with restaurants like that, they are small and tourists will grab the reservation as soon as they hit their reservation window. Which is fine, we usually say, “hey, we’re we eating this weekend?” Lol
It just popped up so we grabbed it.

60 days out from our ten day August WDW vacation. Just booked our ADRs for the first portion of our split-stay. Here's what I was able to snag:
Liberty Tree Tavern w/ family + my parents for dinner on 8/4
Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater w/ family + my parents for lunch on 8/5
'Ohana w/ wife for dinner on 8/5
Crystal Palace w/ family + my parents for dinner on 8/6
'Ohana w/ family + my parents for breakfast on 8/7
Skipper Canteen w/ family + my parents for dinner on 8/7
Via Napoli w/ family for dinner on 8/8
Hoop-Dee-Doo w/ family for dinner on 8/9
Sanaa w/ family for lunch on 8/10

All of the reservations were relatively easy and around the time we would want to eat. I'm not sure why I had to wake up at 4:30am CT to book these reservations...:rotfl2:

I got 3 questions
1- Is Disney giving out Transportation cards currently?
2- Are certain rides handing out cards again? Example driver’s license at speedway.
3- At Club Cool do they still give out free icee if you are wearing a birthday or anniversary button?

Good Questions.
#1 - Honestly don't know
#2 - I don't think they are any more, but it's wort asking if anyone get's down that way.
#3 - Was unaware of that one. Given the referb I suspect no, but that'd be a unique bit of hidden magic I'd be interested in hearing more about.

Zerf and Petters could have better answers
What say you's guys, got any insights on these?

Because if you got up at 5am, you'd have gotten... nothing!!!

2 'Ohana ADRs. Nice. :) I've never been but would like to someday. Done all the rest and had a blast at HDD.

I can answer all those questions!
1. No clue
2. Hadn't even heard of that.
3. They do that? Didn't know that.

When I was in transportation a month and a half ago, we didn’t have them but it never hurts to ask.
I’m not in attractions but I asked two people who are and neither one of them have them.
I work in club cool on occasion and was just trained there back in April and the only free there is the coke products on the wall at the six dispensers in the small paper cups.
Celebration pins are still around and plentiful.

I'm really pumped for HDD. This afternoon, my wife added Oga's Cantina to our date night. So it's 'Ohana and then a Star Wars concoction to wrap up the evening.

When she woke up this morning, she asked me what I was able to book. I told her just Tony's Town Square at 10:30am.440671e2dbd933948876357802739856f930f2c9_2_502x500.jpeg

Got a felling the transportation cards are starting to float around I saw a skyline r one somewhere online they never had one in the last 4sets.

Rides that I have received cards from in the past were Haunted Mansion, Speedway, Jungle Cruise, Dumbo. Other cool stuff you use to be able to get were Monorail wings sticker, A Galatic Hero sticker if you got a score of 1,000,000 on space ranger spin.

The old club cool did but I’ve been noticing they love to take the little things away and zap you with some crazy charge for everything.

Im kinda upset with them now , I have the most expensive AP they have but they will not send me the AP magnets since I’m not in the park to: get it, you would think they would make sure anyone with the top APs got one. Everything is a money grab now. I guess they are trying to make up for the 40%+ stock loss in the last 2 years.

I will try all the things they use to do and see how many are still active. Crazy about safety cards were plentiful especially at AK I’ll see what happens👀

I was at Skyliner for over a year and the only thing we had was a safety card, but that wasn’t a SL exculsive and they didn’t last long. We also had wooden coins but that didn’t last long either. The problem with that stuff is 95 percent of the cms at SL are in safety critical roles. They can’t take their eyes or minds off what they are responsible for and they rotate. When your safety critical, you can’t hand that stuff out, you can get in a lot of trouble.
