Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Hi! I stayed in Room 3289 at BWI Jun 16-19 and thought I would share my experience. I booked a BWI resort view room for 1 person. I requested first or second floor and got the third floor. The room is renovated. It is a room with a King bed, chair and sofa that folds down into a bed.

It is almost like a half accessible room. There were two peep holes in the door (upper and lower) and some of the light switches were on the lower half of the walls. However, the door did not have an automatic opener and the bed was higher up. The room did have a seemingly larger than average foyer area by the front door.

I loved the location of the room. It was right near the elevator on the third floor. I loved the finishes and counter top spaces in the bedroom. It reminds me of the giant counter top under the TV at Pop. I also liked the bed. It was very comfortable. I loved the Disney touches and artwork and the colors are very soothing.

This room is so loud. I don't know if the walls or floors make it loud but it is REALLY loud. I could clearly hear the people in the adjoining room through the door-their TV and just their conversations. I slept in ear plugs which helped with the noise. I honestly don't know if I have stayed in a room at Disney that was this loud.

This room is also very bright. It seems like they removed the carpet but didn't replace the doors adjusted for laminate or tile flooring. There is a huge gap at the bottom of the door to the hallway. The light from the hallway shines under the door all night. There is also a strange, blue light on a plug in the bathroom that glows and reflects directly into your eyes when you are in the bed. These were easy fixes-towel across the door, shut the bathroom door. However, sometimes when I crash into bed after a Disney day it is hard to get back out of it to fix sound and light problems.

I would recommend the room for location but bring ear plugs and turn the lights out completely before you get into bed so you can adjust doors, mirrors, towels, etc.

We are staying resort view, CL in mid August. If I request a room close to the elevator, will we be the furthest away from the lounge area? PS-YES, we want everything! LOL!

That's strange, they usually have the beers out in the fridge from 5:00 on. I guess this is something new.
Oh, I Iooked around! :drinking1They had a new empty fridge/freezer that is tall. Nothing in it. There was no alcohol in the
fridge under the counter that holds soda, etc. I also heard some men asking for beer and inquiring as to what
they had. There could be a reason or it could be temporary. I was a bit surprised as this was the first time that
happened for us at BWI.

@ KerryCm -- Thanks for mentioning the Youtube video on the garden cottage update.
Looks Nice! Here is link if anyone wants to take a look:

Thanks for posting it. Overall I like it (especially the headboard) but I’m shocked they did nothing to the upstairs bathrooms other than add the large shampoo dispensers. I hope they at least fixed the showers, I’ve stayed in 3 different ones and all of the showers leaked. I was told it’s a known issue.

I haven't stayed at Boardwalk since mobile order at Trattoria al Forno became a thing, but we recently stayed at the Contemporary and the mobile order for both Steakhouse 71 and Contempo Cafe was only for registered guests staying at the Contemporary. The option didn't populate on friends' phones who were visiting us briefly there. They were staying elsewhere. My guess would be it's the same at Boardwalk and you won't get the option until your check in day.
This is a good way for them to restrict people who were placing a mobile order so that they could get into the parking lot and then walk to a park.

I have a question about BW and not sure where to post it. I am trying to decide btw CL or DV at BWI. Do the DV have a good view or is it on the parking lot side? Trying to understand where the villas are in the grand scheme of things. Any information is helpful.

I’m not sure of the abbreviation DV - is that Deluxe Studio Villa? If so, that’s on the DVC BW Villas side instead of the BW Inn side. When booking cash through Disney, those are usually Pool/Garden view and overlook the pools or garden areas, no parking lot views. They do not have access to the Club Level lounge on the Inn side.

I have fussed about being in the rooms at the very end of the hall - literally the furthest from the elevator you can be. Then in May, right when it reopened, we were closer to the elevator. It was nowhere near full, but geez, it’s so much louder! You can hear everything. Every guest leaving in the morning walking past the room or coming back in at night. And since it’s such a long hallway, I’m sure we would have been very loud and done it to others. You just don’t realize it since it’s such a far walk, so you tend to talk in a more normal voice.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that closer to the elevator is definitely a louder experience!

Yes, I agree. It's also nice for guests to get a bit of priority for dining options at their own resort. Disney seems to encourage "resort hopping" but sometimes it can be frustrating to pay the price to stay and then be crowded out by day guests.

Hi all! Anyone know if the renovated rooms, specifically club level have desks or a table of some sort? From what I rad earlier in the thread, desks and tables were on order. We'll be there end of August and both DH and I have to work while we're there, so at least 1 work surface is needed!

The desks on order for club level was referring to desks for the CMs. All the pics I’ve seen of the renovated rooms at BWI have the desk and desk chair removed, so I have my doubts those are returning.

Well phooey. Guess we'll stick with the villa side then. Thanks so much for the info (and saving me money!).

There is a chair (not a desk chair) next to the bedside table in some configurations I‘ve seen, and there is still the couch in the deluxe rooms. So there is an extra seating area, but I haven’t seen the desks. DS is my travel companion, and he generally has some kind of college work to do while we’re there, so this isn’t an ideal change, but he said he could work in the club lounge as long as he didn’t have a zoom session.

Yeah that's the problem. I can get away with just voice calls, but DH often uses the camera. Plus occasionally have calls that really shouldn't be in public spaces. Oh well. Im fine with the dvc side, but seemed like a good excuse to try club level if we'll be in the room more!
