Just getting back from AKL…

How was the noise level in the hotel? I've seen a few people talking about it being loud recently. Were there any microwaves available in the quick service area? I'm considering grabbing a couple microwave meals, just in case.

We're going in two weeks and also hoping for a partial view :) Never been to AKL so are so so excited.

We didn’t find it particularly noisy. Microwaves I’m not sure about? Good luck! Have fun! It was an amazing experience sitting out on the balcony and seeing the animals!

Jambo has DVC rooms? My husband noticed that bridge in the lobby and was wondering if anyone can walk across it or if it was only club level lol.
Yes Value Studios and 1 BR and even 3 BR Grand Suites. Not to skip over a few CL Studios and 1 BR DVC units on the 6th floor with the Kilimanjaro Club.

We had the best experience at AKL Jambo House over my birthday last June. My daughter sent flowers and a Mickey blow up that I’d placed on the table. When he came “home” after our Disney day, we were greeted with this. The housekeeping CM made my Mickey a towel birthday cake! Made my 74th bday truly special :)

(BTW we’re going back in 3 days and I can’t wait :)

Still here right now - gosh I love this resort - but DANG the Mara has gone downhill. Breakfast is still great - but the rest, they basically have 5 items, Flatbreads, bowls, Burger, Chicken finger, pulled pork sandwich. It's terrible to place an order in person - only 1 register open almost all the time, big lines, mobile order sucks because the food sits there forever before it comes out. It's not really fresh anymore, there is nothing really african on the menu anymore, and it costs more than ever. So disappointing. Still love it here, the food is still "fine" (breakfast again, quite good), but it used to be one of the best quick service on property, now its just meh, and similar to all the others.

I love pretty much everything about AKL, EXCEPT The Mara. I've never been a big fan, and IMO it's just gotten worse in the last few years.

That’s amazing! I am there on Sunday

Beautiful pictures! What I love about staying so low is that often you can hear the "Clip-Clop" of the animals hooves if they get close. Can you hear them? As beautiful as Jambo is, all the DVC villas are on the fifth floor, too far to hear them.

Hi,

We are just getting back from AKL Jambo House. Feel free to ask me any questions. Some of the highlights we had were the view from our room. We requested lobby level partial view and we got exactly that. It was amazing. We even got to see zebras and giraffes and we had a resort view booked. The Mara was good, but we wish they had more variety. Boma was good as well. The pool was fun and we loved the zero entry feature. Feel free to ask me questions!
Sounds like you had a great visit! I have a question: Is the lobby level the third floor? I keep forgetting......

We really loved Boma. Of course, I don’t think I ate enough to justify the cost, but I’m glad we experienced it.
We love Boma too! We eat there every trip!

Oh no! We loved Mara when we were last there, but that was 5 years. ago now. Please tell me that they still carry some of Boma's soups?
WOWZERS! That is a beautiful view! When you check out, would you mind sharing the room number? Thanks for sharing the great pics!
