"Official" 2023 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Yuletide Joy

Will the parade be the gone after the 22nd or will it replace the normal evening parade?
We will be in MK on 12/24 and I hope to see the Christmas parade and maybe even the holiday fireworks. Is there a possibility for this to happen, or do I need to get a MVMCP ticket?

Typically,....
  • Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade will run during normal park hours Dec 23-31
  • Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will be performed for all park guests Dec 23-29
They usually confirm this in late November.

I know some nights sell out completely. I'm being tempted to buy for the party night of 12/7. That is our Magic Kingdom day and I'm not sure how my kiddo will be handling things that late in the trip. Do you think that will be a night that sells out? Ideally I would just wait and see how things are going and purchase party tickets day of if it looks like we could handle the extended hours.

Last year every night sold out, most well in advance (you can see exactly when on the first page). I expect the same will happen this year, as every Halloween party has sold out so far.

I think this chart below is helpful. The whole thread is helpful! If you really want to go to the party, I wouldn't count on day of purchase. All nights sell out completely in advance. As you can see, last year Dec. 6 sold out on Oct. 27. We are going in November during Thanksgiving week and while I wanted to wait as long as possible (since tickets are not refundable...and "just in case"), I went ahead and purchased them last week. Our comparable date in 2022 sold out in early October so I wasn't comfortable waiting any longer. Based on the info below, there weren't any party dates available after Nov. 19.

2022 Sold Out Dates: 11/8 (9/26), 11/10 (9/19), 11/11 (10/3), 11/14 (11/4), 11/15(10/31), 11/17 (11/4), 11/18 (10/30), 11/20 (10/27), 11/22 (10/9), 11/27 (11/4), 11/29 (11/4), 12/1 (11/10), 12/2 (11/4), 12/4 (11/4), 12/6 (10/27), 12/8 (11/4), 12/9 (11/10), 12/11 (11/18), 12/13 (11/18), 12/15 (11/19), 12/16 (10/28), 12/18(10/20), 12/20 (11/4), 12/22 (10/27)

Each MNSSHP is selling out at roughly the same time that they did last year. You can expect the same for MVMCP. They will all sell out by mid-November, expect 12/7 to sell out at the start of November.

You can also purchase tickets from Undercover Tourist which has recently changed it's refund policy. You can return tickets and pay a 5% restocking fee up until the day prior to the event. Could be a nice insurance policy once we hear reports about the first few Jollywood Nights.
I usually buy event tickets direct, but the refund policy mentioned here sounds great. Their website says if they have been modified by Disney or MDE they can't refund them. Does that mean if they been loaded into MDE on my account that they can't refund them?

I actually asked about this exact same thing via chat. Linking to MDE is fine. You just can't call Disney and have it change the date of the ticket or something like that. I think it applies more to multi-day tickets where you can upgrade to an AP or something in the app.

Thanks for that!

I'm getting worried about crowds after reading some of the comments in the MNSSHP thread in this forum. I've never been to MVMCP so I'm not sure what to expect. We aren't planning to do any of the character meet and greets but do want to see the parade and fireworks plus do some attractions while we're there. This is our only Disney day (11/16 party) for this trip as we are primarily there for a Universal event.

I guess there's no sense in worrying about it though because I already bought the tickets, and we are going! I just would like to temper our expectations. :)

Same! I convinced my DH to get tickets under the guise that we'd have some shorter wait times. Now I'm not so sure. We also won't do characters and likely won't make time for snack trips (unless we see short lines).

The average ride wait times during MNSSHP so far this year are very similar to the times for the past 5+ years so if you've been to any parties in that timeframe then you should expect similar waits this year.

Thanks! I've only been to one party (MNSSHP) and that was back in 2014. :)

Wait times will be lower for sure. A majority of party guests are there for the party exclusive offerings, and don’t bother much with rides. Those with holiday overlays will have longer waits, and SDMT and PPF waits will be longer, but not “regular day at MK long.” We’ve been to many Halloween and Christmas parties (mostly sold out nights) and the majority of attractions are near walk-on.
