You Get a Suite! You Get a Suite! Everybody Gets a Suite! December 2023 Trip Report! (Updated 5/16!)

Dinner was really good, we figured this would be a good place for my dad since it’s basically Thanksgiving dinner again, and as noted before, the more basic the food the happier he is.
We've eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern many times and love every bit of it. My favorites are the salad, dark meat turkey, and Ooey Goey dessert. Yum. The beef used to be my favorite until they added dark meat turkey to the menu. :)

Great TR so far!!
How do you keep on top of everything, do you take notes during the days (or at night/end of the day), or do you just go by memory, I'm amazed at the level of detail from weeks ago, I can't remember where i had lunch yesterday. lol

It is really good! That ooey gooey toffy is ridiculously good, that's another recipe my dad wanted us to look up to make at home!

Thank you!

I keep a journal, usually update it during downtimes during the day and again at night. I used to take very detailed notes on my phone, but haven't done that in a while, figured it didn't really make that much of a difference that we got on a ride at 3:02 rather than 3ish. :rotfl: Although if something really funny happens, or someone says something I don't want to forget, I will jot that down in my phone.

A Journal, that you carry with you in the parks, with a pen? As a guy (without a purse or bag), i guess I'm going to make space on a notepad app or something. :)

Oh no, the journal stays in the room. I just write down notes in it when we get back to the room for our midday break and again at the end of the day. While I do bring a bag to the parks, I don't want to lug around a journal! :rotfl2:

Following along! Sorry I'm super late to the party. :wave2:
You arrived the day I left. What a good travel day, and THAT ROOM!!!! :love:Holy moly, that's awesome!!! But I can't believe I missed the gingerbread in the American Pavilion. I went to all the resorts with gingerbread and I missed the American Pavilion?! I demand a do-over! 🤣

Please share if you find a good recipe for that dressing, our family loved it too!
Isn't is so good? Will definitely post the recipe if I find a good one, so far I've only seen one on allears, but haven't tried it yet. May try it out this weekend!

I hope everything is ok with your health. Being in the hospital and being by yourself is totally anxiety producing. Whenever I get that much anxiety, I usually plan a trip to Disney! Even if it's a fake one that I know I won't be taking.
Thank you! It's kind of wild, the only thing that seems to help calm my anxiety right now is thinking about Disney, so I've been going through old pictures, trip reports, and watching youtube videos. It's amazing how much it helps! Disney for the win!

That first room we were in was so amazing, of the three rooms we were in it was definitely our favorite. It was just so beautiful, the location was super convenient, and one of my favorite things was it had its own Christmas tree in it!

Aw, sorry you missed the gingerbread in the American pavilion, but I guess that just means you'll have to go back next year to see it, right? ::yes::

My ADR date for our April trip is coming up in early February and I was going to skip LTT again but after reading your report, I had to find a spot to put it in!

Haha, it is such a great place for a meal, and the dessert is sooooooo ridiculously good!

Quick RL update! (and a fun one this time!)

So it's looking like we may be taking our first Disney Cruise! :cool1: This is quite the shock, up until today we had talked about maybe doing one some day, but there were other trips we wanted to do first.

Our original plan was to go to St John, I actually lived down there for a bit, and have really wanted to go back with my mom to show her all my old stomping grounds (if they still exist). But since the hurricane back in I think 2017, which absolutely decimated the island, places to stay on the island are far and few between, and the place I loved and wanted to stay at never reopened. So my mom and I have been going back and forth on where to stay, until finally last week my mom decided we should go to Barcelona instead since there's a lot more walking in that trip and she's not getting any younger.

Ok, I'm happy with that. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities, and my mom has never been, and once again I'd love to show her around one of my favorite places. So we started planning it out and everything was going great until we looked into the flights...um, yeah, since when is flying to Europe so ridiculously expensive?!?! The cheapest coach seats were over $3000 a person! Last time I went my flights plus hotel for six days was only like $1500, what on earth!?!?

Since I need a slight upgrade from the cheapest coach seats (damn long legs!), the next step up is about $4800 per person, so like $9600 for the two of us JUST FOR THE FLIGHT, throw in the hotel, food, all the touristy stuff, and we'd be looking at like $16000+, which is just insane.

So at lunch today I was looking around at other options, and starting looking into cruises in the Caribbean, and came across Disney cruises. I ended up finding one that falls during one of my moms vacations, and after pricing out the Barcelona trip, it seems super cheap, even with staying in a suite! :rotfl:So now we're seriously thinking of booking it, and bonus, we'd start or end (or both) the trip at Disney World!
