Let's speculate about Polynesian some more!

How likely do you think the Polynesian tower will be part of a new/old association?

I have to disagree with you there. We were existing owners but wanted to see the new resort studios. They also showed us the rooms in the regular building. I’m not sure how you could consider the buildings similar when one only has hotel rooms where the other clearly has the larger rooms with the kitchen.
The difference is you're an existing owner. You have prior knowledge of the product where the majority of their purchases are from first time buyers.

You have to view it from a view of their target audience, which isn't informed buyer's.

I work in wealth management and I look at it in the same light as mutual funds vs ETFs. These two products are vastly different, but most of my clients have no idea what they are or why they matter.

I might be an existing owner but my point was they showed both buildings which have vastly different offerings that can be seen if you are an existing owner or someone interested in purchasing for the first time.

We wanted to see the new offerings of the resort studios but the guide first took us to the original building where we had stayed before and then we got to see the resort studios. If they are showing the original building to someone who has already stayed there before my guess is that they would have also shown it to a perspective buyer as well. Then that buyer would be able to see the buildings are quite different.

I see what you mean. That does make it interesting.

How can this thread go from new posts all the time to just dead???
I will speculate that the new tower will be priced higher than the $225 going rate but it will be less than whatever VDH is selling for at the time it is put on sale.

I believe they will keep selling VDH at a premium price point compared to the WDW resorts and Aulani.

Exactly, they took too long, the hype is over, we’ve all moved on. lol
But I’m still 100% same association.
To be honest this is 100% true for me. It was announced, I was so excited. I was making plans with my budget and savings to add on some points. Now, I’ve had so much time to reason with myself that I’ve decided I don’t need more points and I’ll just try my luck at 7 months. The price increases in the meantime also haven’t helped

I'm also hoping to 7 month this. Finally another resort at WDW with another FULL bathroom in the 1 & 2 bedrooms!

Can't wait until this opens.

I still have a hard time with the decision and allowing PVB to be used there as home resort since they just let someone buy it as low as $112!

I thought for sure we’d have new info by now. Obviously until we do, not much to discuss.

But, since they are still selling PvB at $250 direct, I expect that to be the base price when sales start if it truly does go into PVB.

VGF was selling at $255 before they started selling BPK.
They started selling at $207 a point before incentives.

That is why I'm betting it will match the current resort pricing which of course will probably rise by then but I don't think it will have risen to $250 a point.

Poll Summary

Divided poll data into two hypothesis categories: a new association or the current one.

- New Association: 205 votes, 67.2%.
- Current Association: 100 votes, 32.8%.

Personally, still believe it will be part of original PVB. 🌴

I'm starting to talk myself out due to suspected same association/competition for rooms, overwhelmed monorail/GCH amenities, increased expected sale price, lackluster promotions compared to VGF fire sale, and mentally adding up more maintenance fees. I still hope to get in once at seven months (we lucked out at VGF in early December, 2022,) but who knows.

Now I'm getting to a "meh" place since we've been hyped for so long, LOL. I'll probably go back to excited again, but if the direct points are going to be $250pp, I'm thinking the better long-term value may be VDH and rent the points out when we're not going. DisneyLand Forward seems to be happening before anything of note is coming to WDW, and by the time it DOES happen, the kids will be graduated. I'd like to have a guaranteed VDH reservation on our way to Aulani.

Once they announced BPK, they did not sell any more VGF at the sold out price of $255. So, no one was allowed to buy any longer that high, even if they wanted to.

The approach with PVB is different…they are letting people buy at the sold out which leads me to believe that base price will be kept that night..

This way, they won’t need to explain to those buying now why no one let them know the price would be substantially lower if they waited a few months…not a good thing.

On the other hand, they are not moving very quickly, so it could be several months before they actually sell the tower.

True which makes setting the base price at $250 even more likely. VDH is $239….and when they started sales for that, they did price it higher than RIV and VGF to start…breaking with tradition to match other active selling resorts…

So, given that, it’s not out of the realm that they will start base at $250….now, they will add incentives, but given the were light with CFW ones? I have to wonder if we might not see anything substantial.

But, the point still remains is that they are letting people buy PVB and prevented people from doing it for VGF….and I think that was because it was announced to be part of VGF and the difference in sold out and what they knew they had to start at…$207….was a big gap.

The other possibility, even if remote, is that we are going to see a surprise with Poly tower and the trust…or current PVB points won’t actually end up having home resort advantage.

I’d have to do some research on that but I thought I saw people had purchased at the sold out price as they wanted the points at that time and while BPK was announced they were not yet selling it.

I know they showed it on the add on page even though BPK was announced. I’m not sure how long it was still showing after the announcement but it was for a little while.

I tried, and was denied…it was pulled from the website within a very short time once BPK was announced…sales were suspended for new contracts pretty much immediately.
