Recommendations for off-site home relatively close to Disney

We're planning our 3rd trip for next June and we received a very nice recommendation for a 4 bedroom home from someone on this board last year. We enjoyed the stay a lot, but would like to try another place for the next trip. We're looking for something with 4 bedrooms (or more), a private pool (doesn't have to be huge or anything, the kids are small) and in the proximity of WDW. This years stay we were at Indian Hills, so probably around 7 miles from the closer parks and 12-13 miles from the TTC and we wouldn't want to be any further away. I can find hundreds of places on VRBO.com, but I thought I'd reach out to the community here and see if I could get any personal recommendations. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I'm in the same boat, looking for a place in June. So I'll follow along and see what people say. We normally rent from vacationcentralflorida but they do Saturday to Saturday rentals and I need a mid-week rental this time.

Now, my neighbor rented through http://vacationbythemouse.com and had a great experience. So I've been checking that out some.

I agree that VRBO is overwhelming!

I should also mention we are somewhat flexible on dates, just looking for 10 days sometime in early-mid June. We looked at the vacationcentralflorida places last year and they look very nice, but they totally stick to the Saturday to Saturday rentals, which isn't quite enough time for us.

You might consider Windsor Hills. It is the closest to WDW and you probably passed by on your way from Indian Ridge. It has more resort amenities and is a gated community. We have stayed there many times and love it's proximity to the parks and I4. We usually rent a 4 bedroom pool home called Villa Park Lane (www.villaparklane.com). The owners are great to deal with and the villa is kept immaculate. I'm not sure if they're available for your dates but if not, there are many other beautiful homes in Windsor Hills. In fact we are returning again in a few months. Can't wait!! Good luck!

I would highly recommend this house that we stayed a couple of years ago: https://www.vrbo.com/97105

It had one master on the main floor, another master upstairs and two other "kids" bedrooms upstairs - one with a double and a twin and the other with two twins. There is a fifth smaller bedroom on the main floor. There is a games room and four showers total. The pool is very nice and includes a spa tub. It backs on the main lake for the resort so it is very private and has a lovely view.

It is in Lake Berkley, a lovely gated community very close to a Wal-Mart, restaurants and other attractions (mini-golf, Medieval Times) and is about 12 miles or so from the "main entrance" to the Magic Kingdom/TTC.

There are loads of other houses for rent in this community if this one doesn't meet your needs.

stayed off site for the first time in April. We rented a townhouse in Windsor Hills - I was really happy with the location's proximity to Disney and the restaurants in Celebration. We used VBRO

We booked a 4 bedroom home in Indian Creek for $850. We get there Saturday. I submitted an inquiry on http://indiancreekflorida.com/indian_creek.htm and got contacted by several owners. VRBO charges owners a fee for rentals so I found the offers by owners on the Indian Creek website to be much more reasonable. You can also submit an inquiry on the Windsor Hills website (I'd recommend the vacation homes if you want 4 bedrooms--the townhouse and condos only have 2-3 bedrooms) and have a ton of people email you with an offer.

Awesome! Let us know how you liked the home and the location vs. Windsor Hills.

If you don't mind reporting back, I'd love to know what you think of the area and the home when you get back. Also, what length of time are you staying for?

This is our house in Windsor Palms. It is about as close as you can get, gated & guarded 24/7. It's the closest I have ever stayed other than being onsite. Has 4 beds, 3 baths, private pool, spa, plus Olympic-size salt water community pool. If you inquire you will reach my property manager, not me.

I'd be happy to report back. We are staying Saturday - Saturday. I was sold on the place because they have great baby gear. They have a real full size crib, high chair, baby monitor and bed rails for my toddler. There were some quotes for $100-150 more that had a game room in the garage, but my 8 mo old and 3 year old really wouldn't use that yet.

We've stayed at Windsor Hills and Mystic Dunes before so we know we love the area--tons of restaurants we love and a quick, not busy drive to the parks if you take Sherbeth Dr.

Definitely further than 7 miles away, but there are tons of rental houses in the Davenport area. We've been staying there the past two years. It's about a 20 minute drive to Disney, but you can't beat the price and the convenience of the houses. Most are 3-4 bedrooms, but there are also larger. Nearly all have private pools as well.

sleepnearthemouse.com All except 1 I think are in Rolling Hills, the neighborhood across from WH, very close to the parks. Rates are pretty good as well. If you email her with your dates she will get back to you quickly. I like that the quote you're given has no hidden fees even pool heat is free.
