DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Morning Guys.

Getting my one day in the office this week. We had a good trip to Quebec City and Montreal, always nice to get away with the family +1.

Off to Vancouver for work next week; taking in some of the North America Masters Games. Should be fun.

Have a good one.

Good Morning Gents! Last time on a computer until after Labor Day! Headed out to tour some National Park in and around Wyoming. Just taking a pone and a small tablet, not going to be much WiFi or cell service out there, so any changes or request will have to wait 'til I get back. Welcome the new guys for me and I will add them when I get back too.

Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Disney, Dole Whips & Bacon for All!

Safe travels Randall, enjoy the trip.

'Morning all...
And a good Friday to you.

Just realized it's less than a month before we head down to Da' World for a no young'ens anniversary excursion.
I ain't said much about it till now so as not to jinx everything like our last two attempted outings.
Current plans include MNSSHP, a Keys to the Kingdom tour, an evening at the Calli Grill and much time at the F&W.
Hopefully I haven't gone and opened my mouth too soon again.

Not a problem, we'll hold down the fort.
Just don't go tryin' to stuff anything into one of the geysers while you're there..

That's a long haul from New Brunswick.
Your work seems to send you all over the place.
and that's not a bad thing at all.

I do get to travel the country a bit, we like to move our meetings around and we are part of many of the major multi-sport games going on. This trip is a fact finding mission about hosting an event like this. I'm crossing the country and back with travel on Monday and Thursday, meetings on Tuesday and some time to take in some events on Wednesday. Since this is a masters games, there are beer gardens.

Happy Friday. It sure has been an ordeal with the Tumbler. First, the fuel valve was defective. Then, it was a wire that powered the valve. Total repair was $330. I drove it to the tennis court, where is found that the windows, locks, break lights, and rear turn signals didn't work. Called right away, took it back this AM, and it is all fixed with no extra charge of course. They forgot to plug back something in one of the fuse boxes. The vehicle is 13 years old and has 172,000 miles, all put on by me or DW. There is going to be a point where hassle factor crosses purchasing a newer vehicle. I was hoping to get 200K on the car first.

So, with the extra frustration, I took the day off from work. I've been playing tennis twice a day getting ready for the tournament this weekend. So, I thought I would take a bike ride. I haven't rode a bike outside since I can remember. I did a 15 minute ride out and back and was drenched. But, it was a lot more fun than riding at the gym. Now, I'm carbing up for tennis tournament this weekend - singles, doubles, mixed doubles. Even though none of you sponsored me, I'll still share the results if I live through the weekend. :lmao:

So I'm at work. Again.
Oh, well. At least I feel good about helping out a friend.

That is a great of example of being a DisDad.

You have my sympathy. I've been in that situation more than once. I think my record was six 13 year olds, and I took them to a small amusement park (what you would call a state fair), so they were extra giggly. Oh well, that's what I get for buying a mini van I guess. Next car is a mini cooper...
.

Sadly, I did such a good job that all the moms have agreed that when I am in town, then I can continue to drive all of them twice a week for the rest of the swim season, you know, that ends in March. :scared1::eek::scared1::eek::scared1:

All!

Have a great trip. Don't get lost hiking out there.

We are about 6 weeks out from our trip to Vero Beach. With a relatively small repair bill, we are going to chance the construction. But, we are still stuck with our children. :lmao:

It sounds like a great trip, and you have a couple of my favorites with MNSSHP & Cali Grill. They used to let you return with your receipt in the evening to watch Wishes or Hallowishes from up there if you ate earlier. It is a terrific view and the music is piped in. I think CJ said that after the refurb, the terrace didn't have as great a view, but I haven't tried it since. I really like the view from BLT TOTWL.

Hey, it's Friday! My next couple of weekends aren't exactly what ya plan on. Got colonoscopy Monday morning so Sunday is clear liquid diet only, nice huh? Then for Labour :-)laughing:) Day weekend I get to depart for China next Saturday for a week long business trip. So I get to miss the kids back home during the Holiday weekend and get to miss parents weekend the following weekend as I do not get home until late Saturday night. Obviously I am not happy but then again the job does allow to provide pretty well for the family and I will make-up with some extra days off. Anyway, enjoy the weekend fellas.

You should be good, enough has got in your way already so karma should provide a smooth road for you. Looking forward to a non kid World trip down the road, gonna have to let us know how it goes.

Again sorry about the vehicle and good luck this weekend.

Morning.
God I'm tired.
4 hours down, 12 to go. Tomorrow's going to be even rougher (waking up-wise) but shorter at least.

Nice. I'm sure karma will find a way to repay you, in a good way.

So far..... no. I'm waiting. Do I have to fill out a form?

Last time on a computer until after Labor Day!

Is that even physically possible?

Welcome the new guys for me and I will add them when I get back too.

Will do and have a good trip!

Hopefully I haven't gone and opened my mouth too soon again.

Fingers crossed.

Well that sucks. Even though the follow up repair is free, it's still costing you in aggravation and time.
Oh, well. Free.

That is a great of example of being a DisDad.

Thanks. But holy crap I'm tired.

Got colonoscopy Monday morning so Sunday is clear liquid diet only, nice huh?

A necessary weevil.
Gotta schedule one for myself soon.

Sorry. I stopped feeling bad when I read "China". To me that would be awesome. Then again, maybe you've been several times and the novelty's worn off?

Afternoon boys from a very sunny Anna Maria Island. another 3 days of beach life, then back to London on Saturday night, and back to work on Tuesday. Have eaten my body weight in Grouper.

Safe flight back. Can't blame you on the Grouper intake, have to take advantage of fresh Florida seafood.

They want me to work a 16 hour day again. I was going to say "no", but the woman who was taking the day off was going to come in to work if no one could cover for her. I know her Mom's been in the hospital and she's super busy taking care of her...

I nominate you for the Dis Dads Hall of Fame.

Good Morning Gents! Last time on a computer until after Labor Day! Headed out to tour some National Park in and around Wyoming.

Have a blast. We will try to take care of the place but when you come back and it is a mess, its Norm's fault.

We won't say anything, so it is still a secret.

Total repair was $330.

Sucks but could have been worse.

I think CJ said that after the refurb, the terrace didn't have as great a view, but I haven't tried it since. I really like the view from BLT TOTWL.

What they did was open another terrace on the other side of the restaurant. That is the one with the blocked view so I would avoid it.

Good luck with all the tennis.

I am not happy but then again the job does allow to provide pretty well for the family and I will make-up with some extra days off. Anyway, enjoy the weekend fellas.

That is even more traveling. Sorry you are missing all that family time.

I don't know how you do it, but especially without coffee.

Thanks on th vehicle and tennis. You might get a Life of Mike tag with all the out of country travel. I get to travel 77 miles down the parkway to exotic WKU's campus next week. :lmao: Have a good work trip and good luck on the colonoscopy.

Thanks, and yes, it's all my fault. I didn't know we had a hall of fame, but it's not a bad idea. If we form a DisDad hall of fame, I nominate the "Hall of Fame" song by the Script to be to official song of the DisDad Hall of fame.

I'm pounding a Coke as I read this.
.

Fun with capitals. Better than snorting coke as you read this. :lmao:

Well, lost my singles match. The good news is that I now play open. The bad news is that means it's full of the #1 HS and college players. I lost to a guy 22 years old, half my age 2-6, 3-6. I was stronger, but he was obviously in way better shape. I missed two game points the 2nd set. I still was is in it. So, one more year to try to relive the past. :lmao: I've got doubles and mixed doubles tomorrow.

Youngest DD won her first tournament singles match, 6-1, 6-4, beating a freshman on the HS team. She had to play a 2nd match, and lost 1-6, 4-6.

Are you sure???

I forgot. Nancy Reagan wasn't your first lady. "Just say no.". It was an incredibly successful campaign. :lmao:

So, I thought I would take a bike ride. I haven't rode a bike outside since I can remember. I did a 15 minute ride out and back and was drenched. But, it was a lot more fun than riding at the gym.
I really haven't been on a bike since I was a teenager. I do agree that riding outside is much more enjoyable than in a gym. Frankly, I never saw the attraction in riding a stationary bike.

Too bad about the loss, but it sounds like a valiant effort. Good luck on your next games.
Congrats to DD. The loss sucks, but the win is great, especially against someone older.

I haven't yet had the pleasure, but DW had one done a couple months ago. She said the procedure itself wasn't too bad.

Then for Labour :-)laughing:) Day weekend I get to depart for China next Saturday for a week long business trip. I know how travelling for work can take it's toll on you and it is especially hard to be away during holidays and special events. But at least you do get some extra days off after. And China must be an interesting place to visit. I've spent some time in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on work trips. It's always nice to see other parts of the world and Asia is quite unique.

Do I have to fill out a form?
If you do, then I must have misplaced mine ages ago.

Crap I'm tired. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Morning all.
That is all.

You need some kind of pre-game routine that will scare the crap out of those young whipper-snappers.

Congrats to DD on the nice win.

What'choo (choo) talking about Willis?

Wow. I'm really tired.
