Big Thunder Mountain Refurb

Hi All,

I've been looking at all of the sites that show the list of upcoming ride closures/refurbishments; one of the items is the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Some of the sites say the closure is until 11/18 and some show 11/19. 11/19 is our last day on our trip and I'm looking to see if there is a definitive date that it will be back open -- my kids would love to ride it again. Any info would be great!!!
 
I imagine that some of the websites are listing 11/18 as the last day of closure and some are listing 11/19 as the first day of opening.

Our trip ends 11/19 as well. DME pick up is not until 4PM so am toying with trying to get FP+ for BTRR that day. except MK is a 9 out of 10 for crowd prediction.

Since 11/19 is the Saturday before Thanksgiving you should have an easy morning at MK. We've done this week a few times before. Since kids are in school through 11/18 we found that most families arrive on Saturday and Sunday. MK will probably be packed Saturday afternoon and for the late EMH but the morning shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, this is a huge help!

I didn't realize that MK was going to be that packed that day. On our trips we usually try to hit all of the parks the last day and end at MK (My kids like to hit their favorites), I am totally rethinking this now....

True. I was just being cynical. I do think they purposely do these refurbs because 1) it's usually less crowded around then and 2) they like to have everything up and running during Xmas. If you take away a major ride during Christmastime, then all the other ride waits will go up astronomically.
 
I'm crossing my fingers that it will be up 11/19 as well as it's our last park day, too! It's DS10's favorite ride and it would be major pixie dust if he was able to ride it. I wonder if they will allow us to schedule FPs for that day?

EASYWDW has MK listed as a 6 for the 19th but has not updated since the Spring. Touring Plans has it listed as 9. FWIW
 
Jeez, it was closed on our last trip (april 2015) and will be closed on our next trip! i think it was also closed on one of our previous April trips as well. :sad2:
