Hey all! My mom and I are taking our 2nd trip to DW in January. She is 70 and I'm 35, and we're not traveling with kids.

She paid for the whole trip for both of us, so I want to splurge and find a great experience for us together that I can surprise her with. I was looking into the Wishes Dessert Fireworks Viewing Party, but the reviews seem to say it's not worth it. Anyone have any other suggestions for something special that you've enjoyed??

Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have done it twice at Disneyworld and once at Disneyland. This tour is a great value and Lunch is also included.

I second IllumiNations cruise

OR

Spa visit at GF followed by lunch at GF Cafe. (or tea - which really IS lunch)
I do so love a good massage!

I'm taking my Mom to Cinderella's Royal Table. It will be her first character meal ever and the first time in 38 years that she has been to Magic Kingdom.

Just to add to the suggestions......

Lunch with an Imagineer is my favorite extra activity.

Taking a tour is good, too. Pick out what interests you specifically.

A spa treatment can be fun.

A special dinner is always fun. Narcossee's (Grand Floridian) at the fireworks time is really neat.

Well you've come to the right place. I am the queen of surprises as my mom and friends tell me. I take mom to Disney every year and plan surprises for her. U can chk out our intimate dining experience or one of our trips (links in my sig). Sometimes I do big splurges like a private dinner on the balcony at grand Floridian and sometimes it's smaller surprises. I plan something for everyday and every morning she is so surprised to find them. We just did the wishes dessert cruise and with all the keepsakes u get and the experience it was totally worth it. Sometimes I switch us to club level without her knowing it. Sometimes a signature restaurant and I buy her a new dress and jewelry for the dinner. We also did tea at GF this last time. That was a lot of fun. I bought a dainty tea cup with lid and hung an invite to high tea from it. My mom loves Epcot so we spend lots of time there. U can do a gift card attached to an Epcot passport with instructions that she must buy a souvenir in each country. The possibilities are endless!

Cirque du Soliel

Get matching Disney tshirts. We were there a few weeks ago and there was a whole family with special "I'm the birthday girls - (husband, daughter, son, mother, father). Very cute. Actually as you are going in January, maybe get long sleeve tshirts made up.

The GF tea would be perfect. For our 5 year wedding anniversary, I booked a surprise Wishes cruise out of the Poly after dinner at 'Ohana. It was great.
