You have one pool day all alone without your SO or kids, and your magic band opens any resort pool. Where do you spend your relaxing day?

I don't know all the pools, so I have to answer with a question - where is the quietest pool on property, or alternately the one with the most shade!

I might do the Poly, but really it would be wherever I can find a shady chair to read. I'm really exciting, I know. :)

There is no way I'm spending a day sitting at a pool, especially by myself. So I'd want the pool that is closest to plenty of other activities. The Poly would be good because I could leave my stuff on a chair and walk over to the marina and rent a boat, or hop on the monorail and head to MK, or grab a drink at Trader Sam's, have lunch at Cap'n Cook's, and just generally enjoy the surroundings.

My thought is that would be at Wilderness Lodge. It's usually quiet and has big trees all around but gets a nice breeze off of the lake.

Which ever pool has the highest amount of cute, single guys ;)
As you may be able to tell, I'll be at Wilderness Lodge Cindy.

The quiet pool at Yacht Club. It's tucked back away from most of the activities, has a hot tub and is normally quiet. If, for some reason, it gets loud, I'd just wander over to Storm Along Bay and grab a chair and a drink since I'd have to put up with noise anyway. I did just that my last trip. I was enjoying the quiet pool, me and a few other adults when all of the sudden two young un's came running in and jumped into the pool. I was just about o.k. with that when a group of "young adults" 3 couples worth came in with their huge boom box (who even has those any more) their cooler of booze and ruined it. The girls proceeded to grab the life vests and used them as floatys, sitting on them while they held their cans of beers and the boys proceeded to take their nurf football and take the entire length of the pool to pass it back and forth, missing most of the time and hitting those of us sitting around the pool since they had already dipped into their cooler. I figured if I was going to have to put up with loud kids and rowdy adults, I'd just move over to the big pool where I could enjoy a refreshing adult beverage delivered to me.

If I WAS (were?) a pool person, I'd def go to Stormalong Bay. Since I'm not, I'll go with Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Plenty of other places to wander around, things to see, comfy furniture in lobby to take naps, good dining. :)

I wouldn't go to any pool. I come for the things I can't do at home. i'll join up with whoever is renting boats though.

Sure, Bryan. The more the merrier. It sure beats spending a perfectly good day of vacation at a pool. I go to Disney to do things, not to sit around and do nothing.

I've been considering trying out some golf lessons to see if I might like that. we'll make a day of not being at the pool doing things we don't normally do at disney.

This is my approach to vacation in general. When we have a "beach day," I'm reading on the beach (water is almost always too cold for me), but chomping at the bit to go see something exciting. Like an old battleground. ;)

I might have to pass on the golf. DW and I took lessons a number of years ago but along the way, both of us have developed some issues that make golf no longer an option (rotator cuff tear, elbow tendinitis, etc.).

We did an airboat ride on Lake Toho a few years ago. That was a lot of fun. The zipline safari is also very good.

Ooooh - you got me with this one! I've never been able to do Characters in Flight due to either weather or time constraints, but a helicopter is even more betterer!!!!! :) :dumbo:

I'm there.

You can't actually do this, though, right? Isn't the airspace over property restricted? I know there are helicopter tours on I-Drive and along 192 though. I guess they get as close as they're allowed to.

There are tour companies that do it, we've probably all noticed the helicopter time to time that you can hear and see not that far away. I want to say HS and Epcot it really seems to be right on top of you.. I don't know the actual no fly zone but there is companies that offer this.. Was thinking of doing one (leaves from 192 very close to property) but it requires minimum 2 adults and my daughter isn't interested.

One even offers an epcot fireworks tour where you can watch from the air.

Well there you go. My vote for my "pool day" is a helicopter ride over property to watch fireworks from the sky.
