Disney Dream January 9th, 2017

Welcome @GeeL10 ! I am sure you will love your first cruise. This trip will be the 2nd for my daughter (age 19) and I.

Thanks! I CANNOT WAIT! I find myself thinking about it every day! Very excited for the Fish Extender as well, I think it's such an awesome idea.

Hi there! I had a question about the FE. I know we're still adding people to the group, but I was wondering: will we have a family:family trade, or do we get gifts for each family on the group list?

I tried looking to see what the normal procedure is, but it seems that some groups do things a little differently. Thanks in advance.

I'm new at this too but I'm pretty sure it's for each family on the list

I apologize but I did not see your question until today. You would do something for each family in the group list, but there is no right or wrong way to do it. Some people do a cabin gift and some people do for each person on the list and yet others do a combination. Some like do something for each cabin on every day while most do something once. When to give out your gift(s) is also up to you - there is no set day or time.

Hope this helps. If you want to see what people have done in the past just google Disney fish extender and a ton of stuff will come up.

There is still time to join if someone else is interested.

Has everyone completed their online checkin? Booked there excursions, dining, etc.

Yes! We were so excited to do the online check-in and book our dinner at Remy's. My favorite part was the Goofy video, just like the Goofy cartoons. (I'm pretty obsessed with him :D)

We haven't booked anything yet, and not sure if I am going to. We did do the online check-in and I am looking forward to when my port arrival time is available. I haven't booked airline yet, should probably do that soon- but I have two more trips for work coming up, so I am still collecting some frequent flyer miles to use towards the trip. I used a bunch when we flew to Seattle in March, so have only enough for one of the tickets this time.

What excursions did you all choose?

We just did the castaway cay rentals, (all-day access to bike rental & snorkeling gear) we were going to do the dolphins but the money was a lot and then I've read the photos are a lot and we decided on splurging on the Remy's fancy night instead. We decided to just do some of our own exploring instead of booking an excursion. I'm sure we'll still have an awesome time regardless. We did sign up for a character meet! It was only between elsa and anna and princesses so we chose princesses. Does anyone know if they add more characters as we get closer?

There will be a LOT of characters on the ship and times to meet them, only a few (Frozen and Princesses) need special tickets. Others you just get in line, like at the parks. The fun part is they also have a lot of outfits. We went for an October cruise last time, so they had Halloween costumes, Pirate wear, formal wear, and their typical attire. My favorite was the characters in Halloween costumes. Who are you hoping to see?

There are quite a few characters available and if look at some of the Navigators posted you will be able to see the variety. I love the pirate costumes, but then I have never been on a cruise that was a holiday themed except Easter and they didn't have special costumes.

@Piper23 do you mean you can't wait to arrive at your PAT or that you haven't been able to secure one yet?

I didn't book any excursions (except for the Cabana on CC), but definitely got my Remy and Palo. I am even trying the Remy Dessert experience this time. I have never done that before.

I am both nervous and excited for this cruise to get here. Nervous because I got to keep up the training for the WDW half marathon. Excited because this is my sister and I's sisters cruise.

@Piper23 Awesome! Do you think I should cancel the special ticket for Princesses then? I wouldn't want to take a spot from any kids. I would love to get a picture with Goofy in some cruise attire (hoping for that!)

@poohs4me Since this is my first time, I want to ask: Do you absolutely love Remy's? I saw a bunch of excellent reviews so we didn't pick Palo only Remy's dinner for just one fancy night. It's super worth the experience right? I'm so excited!

@GeeL10 i would not cancel your princess tickets. Us big kids should be allowed to see the characters as well. My sister and I are doing Anna and Elsa without my niece and nephew. It is our sisters cruise after all.

Goofy is around and can be seen in his cruise mate outfit at time

Everyone seems to have a different opinion of Remy and I will admit right now I love it - love love love it and I am looking forward to it more than Palo. The last time I did Remy I splurged on top of the splurge and went for the wine pairing and virgin cow. I cannot say enough good things about either.

Don't get me wrong I love Palo as well and it is one of my favorite dinners ever. I use to ask for it for my birthday dinner lol. I don't think you will go wrong with either choice.

If I can answer questions that help you please let me know I can try to answer.

I wouldn't cancel your Princess tickets either. :)

@poohs4me - I haven't been able to pick a Port Arrival Time yet. Do you think it is tied to my airline info not being in there yet? We are flying in days ahead, so would love an early PAT. Online it says it is 'locked'

I chose not to do Remy or Palo this trip for dinner. If the brunch wasn't already sold out, I would have totally signed up for that one. Maybe there will be some on-board spots to book a brunch? I did a Palo lunch on the Wonder on my last cruise, it was good, but so was the main dining room food.

@Piper23 yes you can't pick a PAT until you enter arrival and departure information. I would suggest picking a different option for your departure like driving home And then when you have your flights, update the checkin. The tool seems to allow that. This way you can get your PAT.

@poohs4me Thanks- I went ahead and put in the flight information for the flight I plan on purchasing and was able to get our PAT and finalize everything for check in. yay!

@Piper23 glad you got a PAT. If your flight changes, you can go in an update it. I was originally on an 11:23 flight out of MCO and the airline moved it to 1:35 so I have to go in an update mine. I am not thrilled with the change but at least I can use the onboard airline checkin program now.
