seaworld in one day

thinking of going mon dec 5. can sea world be done in one day
I don't think so. I did over hear a conversation some AP holders were talking saying that you can't do all the shows in one day.

I did see a booth that advertised Free dining and an extra day at SW. I didn't ask what you have to do to get the extra day.

There is so much to do at SW, I would do more than one day there

But if you only have that one day, you can hit many of the highlights

Might have to choose some shows over the others due to their start times

I would go a different day if you can to experience SeaWorld Christmas. They have special shows at night and it snows in a certain area plus trees dance to music at certain times. You can buy a special holiday show preferred seating package to ensure you get a seat and there is a special reserved section. It begins on 11/25 and is only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until the week before Christmas.

It can be done in a day! We went yesterday and did the whole park. We only missed the wild artic because it was closed. We arrived when they opened at 10 am and stayed until close at 6pm.

To fit in all the shows we did the 10:30 dolphin show, 12pm one ocean, and 4:30 sea lion. In between the shows, we did the animal attractions, a couple of the kids rides, and the hour long dolphin tour.

You can't see everything but if you plan your day ahead of time, you will be able to see alot.
I don't normally plan much at all. with one day I would. Plan well and you should be good.

You can see a lot of the park in one day, but not everything IMHO. Also if hours are just 9 to 6, it's harder to get as much in as when there are extended hours. We just did the park this last Sunday and had quick que too, due to a stay at the Residence Inn. Here is what we did: Hung out by the Stingrays, viewed the Penguin attraction - but just viewing as the ride broke down and we wanted to hit the first dolphin show, went to the Dolphin show (Blue Horizons), rode the Mako coaster, did Wild Artic, went to see One Ocean (Orca show), did some shopping (some in our party love the SeaWorld Gift Shops), had a snack, saw the Pets Ahoy show, did Journey to Atlantis and the Kracken, went over to Dine with Shamu for our special dinner and the little 1/2 hour or so presentation by trainers, went back to do the Penguin rides (no breakdowns), did a second ride on the Manta, and then it was 6 p.m. and time to go home. Fantastic day!

We didn't do the Sea Lion show, feed/see the dolphins outside of the show, visit the dolphin nursery, feed/see the Sea Lions, view the Orcas from the underwater viewing area, do the Turtle Trek attraction, visit the Manatees -- do any of the rides or play at Shamus Happy Harbor, ride the paddle boats, do the sky tower (not sure if that is open), wander though the garden area by the hospitality house.

Also SeaWorld IMHO is a park to savor and enjoy. I would suggest not rushing, but instead stop and enjoy the roses -- enjoy and take all the time you want with what you do, do and just figure you'll need to visit again sometime to do everything (not necessary to have a great day and get a great feel for what the park offers).

We've never succeeded. I always try to squeeze it all in in one day, and we always end up going to guest services and adding another one.

4 shows
3 coasters
1 water ride
1 simulator ride
1 Disneyish slower moving ride
1 360 show
Multiple aquariums and viewing areas
Multiple animal encounters (feeding, petting/ touch pools, informational lectures, demonstrations, etc)
Kids play area and 5 kiddy amusement park rides
Paddle boats
Lookout tower
Restaurants
Misc distractions (street performers, photo opps, shopping, etc.)
Optional extra paid tours and encounters

If you can fit all that in one day, I'm impressed. We've never done anything that involved paying extra money, but we always run out of time.

We'll be there 12/5 too, our only day. But we have a flight out of MCO at 10pm, so we have to wait to check our luggage at our WDW resort at 10am, then Uber it to SeaWorld for the day. Hoping for the best, but with 1 day at BG (Thurs), 2 days at Universal (F,Sa, maybe Su AM) and Sunday night at MVMCP, everyone's going to be exhausted.

have you seen this?

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration begins later this month and the park has released details of their festivities, to be held on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays Nov. 25-Dec. 11 and daily from Dec. 16-31, 2016.

New experiences this year include Rudolph’s ChristmasTown and Santa’s Workshop. At Rudolph’s ChristmasTown, guests can meet Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble, and Yukon Cornelius, as they view life-size storybook vignettes from the Rudolph story. Santa’s Workshop presented by Coca-Cola is a new Christmas experience and Santa meet and greet.

The “Sea of Trees” is back for the seventh year. Over 100 decorated holiday trees will line the water, featuring lights that dance to your favorite holiday tunes. A new 70-foot-tall tree has been added to the display. This will begin after 6:00pm.

“O Wondrous Night” will also return. This 30-minute show that tells the traditional Christmas story from the Bible, but with a twist – it’s told from the perspective of the animals in the nativity. The animals are portrayed by puppets at the beginning of the show to allow the audience to learn the personality of the animals, and then will be replaced with real animals at a “key magical moment.” Animals involved include sheep, doves, goats, an alpaca, a zebu and camels.

Other old favorites will be returning as well. The Sea Lion & Otter Stadium will host “Clyde & Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas”, featuring Clyde & Seamore, some otters, an elf, a walrus, and the return of the SeaWorld mimes! The Bayside Stadium stage will once again play host to the “Winter Wonderland on Ice” skating show. “Shamu Christmas Miracles,” and “Elmo’s Christmas Wish” shows will round out the shows.

I just did it last week. It is not possible to see everything in 1 day, but it is possible to see most things. We saw all the shows except for the dog show (figured it wasn't much different than the animal show at Universal) & Turtle Trek and rode all of the rides at least once. This took us all day, with only a short lunch break. And we had fast passes for the rides.

We only have gone for 1 day each trip. We are always able to fit all 4 shows in. Look at the schedule before you go and plan to be there at the first show time. Someone mentioned above that they skipped the Pet show. It is awesome and much more professionally choreographed than the one at Universal. It is our favorite show! If it's not crowded, you will still have time to fit the rides in and visit some of the exhibits. No....you can't do it all. We have never ridden the paddle boats, kiddy rides, or done any actual animal encounters. The 3D turtle trek is cute. Don't care for the Penguin ride....the last 2 trips it kept breaking down. Not worth standing in line for. JMHO.

Now I'm bummed that we skipped it. But the park was only open from 10am to 6pm and the star shuttle sucked and the 9:40 shuttle got us to the park about 10:45. So something had to give.

For any of you thinking about debating whether a day at Sea World is worth it or not during a trip to Universal, I can say it is totally worth it. I was against it and only went because the weather was too cool to hang out at the HRH pool all day. And I'm glad we did it. Just don't take the Universal shuttle.

Yes, but with a few caveats! You'll need good weather all day, no ride breakdowns, and a plan (and don't deviate from it!). (And don't mix up the show times, which is what my mom, little sister, and I did last time.:P) And just a bit of luck.:)
Get there before opening and stay 'til closing; don't leave in the middle of the day for a break, either. The three big coasters eat their lines fairly quickly, but Journey to Atlantis takes awhile.
In all honesty, I'd recommend two days, because one day WILL be rushed and you'll most likely get all but one or two things done on your must-do list. Also, if you're a roller coaster fan, I guarantee you'll want to ride SWO's more than once. Kraken is a bit rough, but Manta and Mako are very smooth. Manta is the best coaster I've ever been on.:) Mako is full of airtime.
Anyways. The thing is, SeaWorld is a very pretty park, and it's fun to just look at the animals and take your time (and I'm usually a big hurryhurryhurrymustgettothenestthing sort of person in theme parks). That isn't possible in one day.:)

These would be my top 5 recommendations:
~Ride Manta
~...and Mako
~See the orca show
~...and the Blue Horizons show
~Go in the Atlantis aquarium, even if you don't have time to ride Journey to Atlantis
