Take a look at the newly opened Pizzerizzo! Walt Disney Imagineering hid hints of Rizzo, his extended family and friends who have visited PizzeRizzo over the years throughout the two-story quick-service location. In addition to the expansive indoor and outdoor seating area, guests will be able to dine in a “cheesy” banquet room, or take five in a special booth designated just for Rizzo’s celebrity friends.

Place looks pretty cool, but since I had never gone into the other pizza place, probably won't go into this one either.

I actually loved the Pizza Planet pizza.
Like, I'd go out of my way to eat there sometimes.
It's no worse than any of the other quick service pizzas in the World. Actually, it's probably the exact same thing.

I wish that Pizza Planet actually resembled the one in the movie. Dark and cool looking. The Paris version got the aesthetic right, but I found the pizza meh.

this place was super crowded, service slow, and pizza worse than mediocre. Best thing on the menu was the hard lemonade.

I will never understand why Disney can't manage to make a decent pizza anywhere on property. They serve food from every nationality and simply can't do pizza. I haven't been to Pizzarizzo yet but I have no doubt that the pizza there will be just as awful as everywhere else at Disney World. When we want pizza while at Disney, we go to Flippers. It's not the best but it's light years better than anything Disney has to offer. Heck, I make far better pizza myself at home.

@disneysteve You don't like the pizza at Via Napoli? I guess I'm kinda of a pizza snob because i'm a little spoiled here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I frequent Tony Gemignani's Slice Houses any chance I get for a great slice or for a sit down. Just my 2 cents but I consider Via Napoli's pizza pretty darn close to Tony's.

You don't like the pizza at Via Napoli?
We actually had a pizza at Via Napoli for the first time earlier this year. It was awful - wet and soggy and the toppings fell off as soon as you picked up a slice. For what they charge, it ought to be the best damn pizza around.

Have heard VERY mixed reviews on this place. The "negative" ones sound mostly exactly like this, Steve. Am hesitant to try it myself, and since I can get GREAT pizza anywhere @ home, I usually do not even THINK about eating pizza in WDW anyway. I try to get stuff there (especially since I don't drive) I CAN'T get easily @ home - especially with all the awesome choices at Epcot!!

I'm sad to see the pizza is still the pre-made frozen type. They could have at least switched to the flatbread. Since this is suppose to be NY pizza they could at least serve it as a giant slice. If joints around here can serve edible pizza for a buck a slice you think Disney would be able to figure that out.

If I want pizza I'll head to via napoli for Italian style.

It seems to be what type of pizza people are use to. Italian wood fire is different then NY style and different then Chicago too. Heck I've seen NYers get into fist fights over what is good pizza and what isn't (of course they were drunk in a bar looking for a fight but still it was over pizza).

Sorry to hear that, maybe I got lucky. Will have to try Flippers next time we go.

When I posted about our experience on the Restaurant board, I was pretty much told what wilkeliza said. Via Napoli's pizza is exactly as it should be. There's nothing wrong with it. That's the way they make it in Italy.

Being from Philadelphia and growing up with American pizza (primarily NY style), we were really turned off by it. We expect a slice of pizza to have some body to it. We want to be able to pick it up without it falling apart. We want the toppings to adhere to the pizza. The crust should have a bit of crispness but chewiness to it. You shouldn't have to fold it in half or roll it up in order to eat it and you certainly shouldn't need a knife and fork.

I am not about to say that Flipper's is awesome pizza, but it's respectable for what one can find in the Disney area. It really isn't just Disney that can't make a decent pizza down there. It seems that almost nobody can. It must be something in the water.

There is no good pizza in central florida. (I haven't tried blaze pizza yet, but it might explain the 1-2 hour lines that place gets)
That's pretty much been our experience, and we've been going regularly for years and have tried a bunch of places. I just don't know what the problem is. It isn't difficult to make good pizza.

We haven't tried Blaze either. I'm willing to give it a try but our experience with those high temp, rapid bake places has been poor here in NJ.

Blaze is the best you're going to get. I like it, DH (a New Yorker) thinks it's just ok.

Some people seem to like Red Oven Pizza at Citywalk/Universal, but I ate there earlier this year and honestly wasn't impressed. It was perfectly edible, not bad at all... but I get better delivery at home.

I also feel their menu puts on airs a bit too much, and could use more standard pizzas for people not looking to be razzle-dazzled.

I was also upset by the fact that the concept of a green bell pepper seemed foreign to them. Conversation went something like, "Do you have green peppers?” “We have jalepenos!” “But do you have regular green peppers?” “We have jalepenos!” “GREEN BELL PEPPERS!” “We have jalepenos!”

This question shouldn’t have been so difficult considering they’re a pretty standard pizza ingredient everywhere else on earth. Never did get them.

And then I got really cheesed off when I sat down at my table, and my friend had red bell peppers on his pizza and I said, “Wth!? They have red bell peppers!? SERIOUSLY!?” … granted I was fishing for green, but the red would have been a nice alternative for the guy to freakin' mention instead of throwing jalepenos at me 3 times.
