SeaWorld has a "passmember picnic" listed as a perk for September 2017.

I am pretty sure this was offered last autumn as well, but I can't find any information about it online. Did anyone go? Can you share with me any details? My son and his GF are contemplating AP's for their first Orlando trip together, and this is one of the monthly benefits being offered during their travel period.

It is typically a one day thing so if they aren't going to Sea World that day it would not be of any benefit to them. We've never gone but from what I've seen it is all you can eat bbq food with character appearances and animal interactions in the area. Cost is reasonable but a lot more than what I typically spend for lunch in the park so I've never seen any reason to go considering they have animal interactions and character appearances throughout the park for free. To me the best benefits of the AP are the passholder lounge with the free soda machines and the fact that you only pay $5 for preferred parking when you know the park is going to be super busy and you don't want to get there early in the morning.

Thanks for the info. I think it sounds rather fun, actually :). I hope they get lucky and it happens to run on their specific travel week. How nice to get the opportunity for character interactions and animal encounters all in one place without having to run around the park to find them at specific times!

I am virtually certain that they won't upgrade their parking since they will be visiting at such a low-crowd time. Momma has trained her boy well and he will be arriving in time for parking opening, too, which generally makes upgrading parking completely unnecessary. $5 saved is a Shamu Sundae earned :teeth:.

The best benefit of being a pass holder has to be their new pass holder dining plan,$79 and you can eat at any of their counter service restaurants once a day all year long, come on!!Plus I got it in early December so mine will be for almost 13 months.I've had the platinum pass since like 2001 or something which always gets me preferred parking, platinum is also good for reserved seating at the shows.

Definitely a value-add for locals, but not so much for the out-of-state (or, in my son's case, out-of-country) visitor who will only get a couple of trips max from their passes.

Just an FYI parking is $20 for the day now and preferred parking for AP holders is now $10. It means I will buy 1 less tray of fish to feed to the sea lions......still fun since 1st time in the park 40+ years ago. The $79 deal is good but restricts the good stuff at Voyagers. Thinking we will only be there a few times this year we opted to still eat at Voyagers.

I believe parking is only $10 on Saturdays (I went on Wed, and it was $5)

Yes, unless it just went up today the AP parking was only $5 on Thursday. If you go during busy times with small children & strollers it is well worth that $5! The dining plan is not worthwhile to me. I'd probably go just enough times to break even & still have to pay for kids meals. We are local but when you have school age kids that don't get home until 4 & the park closes at 5 or 6 during the cooler weather/less busy times you don't get there very often & a lot of the restaurants close an hour before the park does making it very hard to eat dinner there. Now if I was single with no kids & lived close to the park I'd definitely buy the dining plan & get my money's worth!

Sorry I was thinking of the Beach Clean up that was last September.
