Thanks to all for the great suggestions. We had a great 5 hours in Philadelphia and as a bonus there was no traffic driving back to NYC! My son and friends all raved about their cheesesteaks from Jim's. They even sat upstairs. I stopped in Jim's , but my older son, who is an extremely picky eater, asked to have pizza instead. An employee from a sneaker store we stopped in suggested Lorenzo's. I thought the pizza was ok, but the size of a slice is crazy. Each slice was at least the size of one regular slice anywhere else.
I got to go to the Museum of Art for a short visit. Loved this museum! I was bummed that I was a week too early to see the new watercolor exhibit opening March 1. We all really enjoyed Reading Terminal Market; could spend a whole day eating around the market. It reminded me a little of the Central Market in Budapest.
We had great weather to walk around and look at all the historic buildings. I am planning to head back sometime this spring with my husband.
