Long term golf cart rental options?

Hi! We always rent our golf cart from Disney when staying at the Fort, but it's only for a trip 7 days or less. I've heard of other companies that rent within/to Fort Wilderness resort guests for less. We are planning a 4 week trip and I was curious if anyone knew of a company and perhaps pricing for a long term rental like this. Paying Disney $62 a day for their golf cart for 30 days is not an option for this trip.

I have used Kenny's Tee Time, as have others here, and will be using them again in Oct. I am not sure what his rate is for the length of your trip, but his rates are almost half of Disney's for stays of around a week. However if you rent from Kenny and others you do have to go off site to get pick it up. I believe the only way to get a golf cart delivered to The Fort is if you rent it in conjunction with an RV rental. If you do not have your own truck with a hitch you can use their truck and if you don't have a ride to the pick up/drop off location they can arrange one for you for a fee that still makes it cheaper then renting from Disney. The location I picked up at was 4.5 miles from The Fort.

I second Kenny at Tee Times. They rent for $30 a day, at least that was the last price I paid.

And I don't believe that $62/night includes tax.

I want to say my brother is getting his for 6 nights at a cost of $35.77/night and I am getting mine for 9 nights at $35/night and that includes tax.

It's been 2 years since I rented so I figured it had gone up some.

It does, Jim. In round numbers the rate is $59 + tax and that's how we get to the $62.

We used Kenny last trip and if we need a golf cart in the future we would again.

I wish I could recommend Kenny but after this last trip I will have to say that it was my first and last time doing business with him. I know many have used him in the past with great success but my experience was less than satisfactory.

I'm used to Disney not including the tax on things up front on tickets etc. :)

Do you mind sharing what happened?

Thank you very much for the info. We'll look into Kenny's rental. Yep, it's crazy that is Disney is up to $59 + tax a day... but for short trips we do pay it for the convenience factor.

Kenny is the Man! Been renting from him for 8 years or so. Not as convenient as Disney, but for half the price, I'll make the effort. I usually rent 2 carts, so when you add up the savings for a week it makes sense.

Just making sure - if you rent from Kenny, they can't deliver to the parking lot at Fort Wilderness? You have to go off-site to pick it up?

That is correct kenik01, No golf cart vendors are allowed on Disney property you would have to go off property to pick up a cart from any of them and have to take it off property to return.

It takes about an hour from start to finish to get the swap out done with Kenny. It's quicker to use his truck as the cart is usually already loaded and ready to go.

Now, with reference to Kenny. It's like any other service you'll have some good mixed in with bad experience. I've not had any bad experiences but have seen a few over the years. More good than bad however and since it's half of what Disney wants per day still worth it to me. Although, my youngest is now riding a bike, so hopefully we're done with renting carts.

When you set it up you'll deal with Kelly. She usually handles all the rentals as Kenny is primarily involved in sales now. She'll text you or call about 2 days out and give you the plan of where and when to meet.

And perhaps call you again to re-schedule the time. And again to put it back, and again to change it again.... :lmao:

Okay, so that may not be the case for everyone. It was for me though. Not that I am complaining as she was trying to balance my requests with their scheduling. I was picking up a cart the day AFTER Thanksgiving (since they were closed on Thanksgiving which was the day we checked in). Anyway, I was shooting for as "EARLY" as possible to be able to have full advantage of the day to enjoy all that Disney had to offer (as opposed to doing something.... having to leave to go get the cart, then going back to doing whatever it was in the first place.) Since it was the day after Thanksgiving and they didn't have any cart returns that day, she really didn't want to send a guy out too early (which I totally get) but it led to multiple calls/texts trying to adjust the timing. In the end though, it was all good. Overall, I got what I paid for and expected, so I was happy (and so was the DW, as she wanted to do the "Looping" thing).

I've reserved two carts from Kenny for Christmas :)
First time not renting from Disney. The plan is to turn them back in the morning we check out. Has anyone run into issues trying to get that done and still be out by 11:00?
THANKS!

They do try to accept Returns before dealing with the Pick ups. A lot of depends on how well you can pack up everything else. When we were there this past Nov/Dec (2016) we tried to pack up as much as we could before the last day. I had an "Early" drop off time (I want to say it was like 7:30 Am) but we still struggled to get out. We eventually got off the site about 11:30 and had no real issues. It's not like they are standing there waiting for you to depart (in most cases anyway) but I am sure the longer you overstay, the more likely you are to have repercussions.

Our concern was less of the repercussions from The Fort (sanctions, extra charges, etc...) and more of a concern on how it would impact our travel time getting home.

Plan for about an Hour for whomever is doing the Cart return and you should be okay.

Can someone tell me the process of renting from Disney? Are they near where you check in or will they deliver them to your site?

As soon as you check in at the Outpost (front desk) the golf cart rentals ar right beside the building. If you are coming in with an RV you will see all the carts off to your right when you check in. Just be sure to reserve your cart well in advance as they sell out quite often.
