Hi all,

Just planning mine and my GF trip to the world (it's her first trip :) )

Looking for some suggestions as it's been some time since I have been (fast pass plus was not a thing!)

What are your MUST fast pass plus for each park?

Going in September big it makes any difference.

Thanks,

Phil

Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain
Epcot: Soarin'
Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest, Dinosaur
Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror, Toy Story

MK: 7DMT or Peter Pan(might do PP at Rope Drop if you are early people to see the queue which is neat) - these two rides have long lines all day, then any of the three mountains you are into(Space, Splash, Big Thunder) - don't know if you are aware, but after you use your 1st three that you can make ahead, you can go onto the app and try for a fourth from what is left for the day, then a fifth after that one, etc. This can help get some of the less popular rides for later in the day. After the mountains, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Buzz would be next in popularity. If you are Rope Drop people, then you can do several rides w/o much of a line, make FP for 10:30-1:30, and then try for more as the day goes on. If you have two days there, and are not RD people, you can split it up, and do 7DMT and 2 mountains one day, and then PP, a mountain, and one more the next day. Sidenote -If you would like to eat in the Beast's castle(Be Our Guest restaurant) it is very cool, with the three different rooms to check out, but try to get reservations now if you don't have them already. Brft and lunch are considered Counter Service(even though your food is brought to table while you get drinks and silverware), but you still need an ADR. Dinner is table service, with meeting the Beast, but very hard to get in.

Epcot: This is tiered, so you can only choose one of the big attractions, then 2 smaller ones. So either TT, Soarin, or new Frozen ride in Norway(remake of Maelstrom). Frozen is the most popular, so get FP for that, and then do TT and Soarin if there at RD. If you have two days there, then FP Frozen one day and Soarin the other. TT does have single rider, and with bigger cars, you might ride together anyway. Frozen is over in World Showcase, so might want to FP it for afternoon if you want to do Future World in the a.m. Most of the Tier 2 rides don't usually need FP(Nemo, Turtle Talk, Spaceship Earth, etc.) You might pick Mission Space if you do that one and one other.

HS: This is also Tiered, so you can pick Rock n Roller Coaster or Toy Story Mania(two most popular in this tier), again you can pick one and go to other first thing, and RnRC has single rider if just one of you is into it. Tier 2 most pick Star Tours and Tower of Terror. Fantasmic night show is in Tier 1, and you can try for it as a 4th later if you'd like. Star Wars has meet and greets if you are into that, and they are good to get done early in the day. There are several shows, so you can check out showtimes to cooridinate your day to see the ones you want.

Animal Kingdom - new Pandora land is opening this week, and will be popular. You can FP one of the two rides - one is Navi River Journey, a slow raft ride with things to view, and the other is Flight of Passage, where you sit on a Banshee(animal), and ride it as you are immersed in a 3D movie on the screen(described as a cross between Soarin and Star Tours) - depends on your tastes of which you FP and which you jump in line for. Otherwise there is the Safari and Expedition Everest(also has single rider) and then Dino coaster and Kali River Rapids next. There is also a FP for Rivers of Light new show at night, or you can get a dining package for reserved seating at Tiffins or Tusker House - it is a small stadium unlike Fantasmic, so good to have one of these to not have to wait long in line to get seats.

I find easywdw cheat sheets exceptional:
http://www.easywdw.com/easy/cheat-s...t-sheets-maps-touring-plans-and-wait-times-4/
For each park you'll have a touring plan and FP+ priorities.
I think he hasn't updated AK one yet, but he gave a few tips on a few blog posts. Pandora is going to be MAD, so secure one FP+ for one (Flight of passage if you can, River Journey otherwise) of the two rides and rope drop the other one. Get one FP+ for River of Lights or a dining package, otherwise the standby line can be very frustrating. The other FP+ is either for the Safari or Expedition Everest, or even Kali River Rapid if you're interested to ride it because it can have very long lines in the summer (Safari and EE have higher capacity and EE even a single rider line).

we have to book our FPs in 7 days....we still haven't figured out what we're going to shoot for..
we're a group of 8 ....i may lose my mind before this is over..

with the tiering system, it makes it even more difficult..
and what to do at rope drop etc..

and for 3 weeks....geez....too much to get my head around..

Stick to easywdw touring plans, I've used them in my last three visits and they've worked every time. The only out of date is the AK one, because he's waiting to see how Pandora works out.

Hi

Great advice above.

One thing I would add, if I was you I would plan which park you intend to go to each day, you can use a crowd calendar to help you decide which park is best for which day. If you think you'll be (as we do) taking a break most days and heading back later to another park put that on your plan (I use a spreadsheet.) It's then easy to decide, using the info above which FP+ you're likely to need on which days.

Sounds like hard work right, however you can ignore a plan, you can't ignore no plan !

Paul

Good advice so far!

I want to add that I've been reading a lot about Pandora in AK in order to figure out what I'll choose (my trip is in December, but planning can never be too early :)). I've decided that my DH and I, on our AK day, will arrive before rope drop and position ourselves to go to Pandora. We are going to go straight to Flight of Passage (thrill ride) to ride first thing. Then, we are going to try to do the boat ride right afterwards. I'm thinking Flight of Passage is going to be amazing, so that's why we'll also get a FastPass for it as well, so that we can ride it twice. Our other FP choices will be Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Thank you all for the great info!

Cassie I have booked all of our adrs at 180 days out and we are going to be our guest for dinner.

Excellent advice, we probably will take an afternoon break some days.

Yeah I need to do some research on the new pandora land and the new attractions to do there. Interested to know more about this flight of passage.

Aw sad news that splash mountain will be shut. It was my fav as a kid and my gf has never been to the world. Guess we will have to go back again to ride it .

Thanks for the tips but keep them coming!

Phil

This is some sound advice - I too work on the principle that so long as there's a plan I could completely ignore it when I get there if I feel like doing something different.

...and also on the subject of touring plans, take a look at 'How to Beat the Crowds at....' videos from TouringPlans on Youtube - I haven't tried them but he presents some great ideas so worth a look.

EDIT: The beat the crowds vids from TouringPlans on Youtube are only available for EPCOT and AK so it would seem at the moment.

The other thing that's funny is when someone in the family decides that the plan should be ignored, how quickly we return to the plan...never to stray again :-)

All good tips. Think I need to plan more! As time is going quick. I know which parks and adrs for our 14day trip but not a lot else.

Kind of liked the old way where you just turned up and ran for TOy story mania haha and winged the rest of the fast passes with the machines but guess time has moved on!

Further to my post above I'm just putting this here in case anyone stumbles across this thread in the future - TouringPlans have added another 'How to Beat the Crowds' video, this one is for MK.

I tried at 30 days out every day of our holiday to get Avatar Flight of Passage and nothing was available for any time of any day of the holiday xx
