Purchasing Stroller for Large Infant/Toddler

Today my husband and I noticed my 9 month old's head is already butting up against the top of his stroller when it is fully reclined. He's about 30 inches, maybe taller, it's hard to keep him still enough to check, and 22 and a half lbs. He also has most of his height in his torso.

We have a Baby Trend jogger, which we've actually been decently happy with, despite the spotty reviews. It is supposed to work until he's 42 inches and about 50lbs, but it's obvious that will only work if he is sitting up and he's so young he still takes naps when we are out.

Please give me recommendations for strollers my tall baby could actually fully recline in, hopefully at least until he's two, but that might be asking too much. Bonus points if it's convertible for future children.

Thank you!

Not cheap of the uppa baby vista was great for my tall baby. It now has a second seat option. Also the city elite. But it doesn't have a second seat option

I LOVE our BOB Revolution jogger. My youngest is very tall for his age and it fit him very well until he turned 5. I don't think it fully reclines, but reclines pretty far and he spent many, many hours napping in it! There is a carseat adapter available so you could easily use it for an infant in the future.
I'm actually in the market for a larger one now, because he's outgrown the BOB. He has autism and really needs a chair when we go out for personal space. We were fortunate enough to find a 2nd hand Special Tomato Jogger but he's really at max height for it already

We have a few strollers and the Cybex Eternis m3 is very very roomy! Not a super popular brand (at least where we live) but I think it is the stroller we will use the longest. For comparison, we have/had a bugaboo bee5, uppababy gluxe, baby jogger city elite, baby jogger summit x3 and an icoo acrobat and I think the Cybex is the best all around of features. One of the best things about it for me is how light it is to carry... the baby joggers are so heavy and bulky in comparison to me.

Thank you ladies! I will be looking into these. We're planning on having another baby sooner rather than later, so I'm kind of at a loss of which direction I should go. I didn't really think my baby would start outgrowing his stroller at 9 months. I might wait (he still fits if he's more upright) or might buy a convertible. I don't know if I can justify a bigger single, unless I get an awesome deal.

I hope you find a solution soon!

Baby Jogger City Mini. We used ours for 2 kids and it was wonderful. Folds up easily, one handed. I see people at Disney struggling with their larger strollers on buses and the like and am so grateful the City Mini.

I second the City Mini. It's really easy to fold one handed while you have a pissed off toddler corralled in the other arm. It takes up much less space in a store than a BOB does but it's still easy to steer and the basket holds a lot. It's also very easy to recline and goes very flat. The canopy covers the kid when reclined. I used it when I took a mommy and me exercise class at a local park and it worked just fine for jogging. When folded it can stand upright and takes up very little space. We were able to easily wrangle it on the subway when we went to D.C.

I recommend springing for the adult console and the kid tray. I was also able to strap a small soft sided cooler to the back of the basket (there's snaps there) which was handy for outings and picnics.

I like the Maclaren strollers for bigger kids. They are sturdy and big but still lightweight. I have actually had great luck getting really good condition ones off of craigslist.

I'd highly recommend a Bumbleride Indie Twin for parks, zoos, etc. and a Zoe Double for around town and WDW. We own both, but the Zoe is only 17lbs and very easily maneuvered on and off of the Disney busses. It has a 165 degree recline, so comfy for a little one sleeping!

FWIW, we rented a City Mini Double GT from Kingdom Strollers on our last WDW trip. We HATED it and regretted not bringing our Bumbleride every moment. I realize other parents love them, but we just didn't find it measured up.

City Mini seems like a frequent crowd pleaser. We're kind of spoiled at this point by the flexibility of jogger wheels, so I just don't know if I could make the switch. I know I'll be that annoyed person folding it up, but I have to balance that with the experience while it's in use. We trudge ours through sand and just enjoy the flexibility.

We have the Skip Hop parent console, and it's definitely a great addition to the stroller.

The Macleron stroller seems like an interesting option. It almost seems like a mix of a light weight umbrella while still keeping features of a traditional stroller.

I've been looking at the Indie, I'm a big fan of the wheels and the flexibility there. I know it's a big stroller, but I think my husband and I would prefer a little more work breaking it down and getting it in the car for the benefit of the "driving" experience. I'll have the double in mind for baby number two. For our current little dude, I might just hope I score a deal on a single. I'd also probably be better off getting a used double because it will work with our infant car seat and the new model will not.

I hadn't heard of Zoe before. I'll have to look into that brand.

Thank you, everyone, for your feedback!
