DME Package only now?

I just booked a room only reservation and it wouldn't let me add DME because it said that was only for packages?

Not true. I've never been able to add DME without calling the 800#. Just call and add it, you need your confirmation number and your airline flight info.

That's certainly not true.
DME is a "perk" for staying in a Disney resort. It does not have to be part of a package.
I have never ttempted to reserve DME at the time of booking as I never have my airline info handy so I always call or go to the link later.
In fact I just asked a little while ago for someone to post a link for it so I can set it up in the morning.

Me too. I booked a room only (with the Magical Holidays Room offer) just now and was able to click "Ground Transportation" right there on the Cart page with no problems. It opened the page to add the ME info

I am not good with the picture hosting otherwise I would.

In the cart under Ground Transportation it says, 'To add Ground Transportation, you must first add theme park tickets to your room offer'. It is only when the item in the cart is a discounted room only. If it is a regular room only the add ground transportation works.

Must be a glitch. I would just book your room and then use the link another poster provided to reserve Magical Express after.

Yea, I found it weird. But anyways something I wouldn't put past Disney. You have discount, no DME for you. No package, no DME for you. All the while saying they are decoupling offerings and charging for them to provide a better service for their guests.

But they aren't doing that. I had no problem at all putting DME in my cart with a room only discount booked. Your issue is a glitch on your DME, not a system wide restriction.

Doubtful. Disney WANTS you to take DME to WDW. That way you're on property and can't easily leave! It's marketing genius.

You misinterpret. I asked because I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem or if there was a change I hadn't seen. It has nothing to do with enjoyment of Disney. Just that Disney seems to be monetizing a lot of things that use to be free. So when I say it not working I could see that things could have changed just as much as it being a glitch or one of the many famous Disney IT issues.

Oh, and which offer? Is it the same offer as shown on my snip or a different one? Wonder if it's a glitch with some of the offers?

"I would't put it past Disney" is pretty clear wording that you are becoming less of a fan.

No just a realist. Look at the changes for food and wine? Ripping out a chunk of a moderate to create a deluxe dvc. Turning half of wilderness lodge into dvc.
