Oh this I gotta see!

Vespa is good quality scooter. Send pictures when you get it, especially you driving around Italy?

Ed, that gently used moped might be in my parents basement still. I think we can arrange for something cheap.

Nice, inner Dead Head... probably after I use the bandage scissors . Not sure why Kris is so grossed out - after I wrecked a moped (yes, a moped); she had to clean out my wounds and dress them. I took out my elbow there. Now I can add dog leg bandaging to my resume; adding to being able to do a sanitary cut to both male and female dogs. Things I never thought I would learn.
Bert nice to see you chime in. That is one heck of a skill set you have there

Oh, wait. Is that you already on one? Looking good!
You may one to check out a rerun of The Bill Engvall show for a truer representation.

All joking aside, Ed you're in a great location in T-Town to utilize one of these.

Don't have one yet but I would like to get one.

We moved this spring (downsized, etc.) and we now live in a college town's "downtown" area where just about everything I do is only a 10-minute drive away or less. Church, ball games, grocery, office, Home Depot, Wally World (12 min) and all can be reached at speeds of 35 mph or less. It seems a little overkill to crank the Suburban to do that. And as I said, I'm trying to stretch the last bit of life out of it - The 'Burb has 209k miles and is 12 years old and is the tow vehicle for my Aliner.

Due to my size, I would want something with a 300cc engine. Like this:

or a Touring model like this:

Of course, DW has freaked out claiming I'm having a mid-life crisis and I am getting a "motorcycle". But Michael has been by the house and seen where I live and I agree it would work well here. There are folks who live around who have street ready golf carts but I don't want to go that route. I would have JUST enough room in my little garage for the Aliner and a Vespa.

This may take into next year to make it happen.

I second the second one. Tell the Mrs that a scooter as a midlife crisis is way better than a motorcycle. My midlife crisis was a dog.
Describing where you live it would seem very practical. Of course you'll need a Dis sticker on it.

I guess since I'm not mid-life yet :D, I haven't had a crisis. :duck:But I'd go for the second one. Two of my staff have Vespas and love them.

To any of our friends down on THE GULF TEXAS COAST PLEASE STAY SAFE AND OBEY PRECAUTIONARY WARNINGS

Agree completely. Was just watching the Weather Channel and watching Jim Cantore and Mike Slidell getting blown around.

They say with the stalling of this storm some areas could get up to 35" of rain.

35" of rain is just insane. Hopefully they're wrong on that number.

@bama_ed are you headed to atlanta this weekend?

Nope, garneska.

I've been to several of these games in the past but with the new house and recent move and all, I'm staying put this year. Didn't want to pay that Mercedes Dome First year premium.

But 2019 (Bama-Duke), maybe....

ED

PS - Alabama plays Louisville to start the 2018 season next year in Orlando. Mama is tied to the school calendar but I would love to see the L'ville game and stay at WDW.

PPS - my favorite memory of past years, beside seeing my boys in the Million Dollar Band play at those games, was to tailgate with my nephews for a Georgia Tech game then walk the few miles to the GA Dome and see Bama win. Now THAT was fun!

Yeah I want to see the new stadium. It sounds like it is a lot of fun but not sure about the price to get in. Am sure it is steep. I will try and see a United FC game there. Figure it will be cheaper. It will be a crazy weekend to be here. Lots of stuff going on. Traffic is going to be a bear. The fun part we have to drive to Douglasville on Saturday to take yeti to the vet and then again on Sunday to have dinner at my Mom's.

We have had 19" of rain since Friday thanks to Harvey in Bastrop County (Cedar Creek is where we live). Our dry bed creek was running really fast. We survived the high winds & aka that white out rain. Our prayers are for the folks in Houston & area towns. We have family in Houston & no phone service, so therefore we can't get in touch with them. We had reservations in Rockport @ Thanksgiving for a week. Don't think that will happen since they were hit by the eye of Harvey. Y'all take care & "See you Later"
