OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON & NEW YEAR'S 2017 THREAD

Ok all my new Disneyland friends (WDW girl here)... Just want to clarify, is there only 1 dessert party between the 2 parks? And only the 2 dinner packages (WOC and Fantasmic) or am I missing something? Trying to make sure I book some fun things for our trip and that 60 day window is opening soon.
I have to admit I haven't kept up with the holiday schedule, but as of now there is also the Skyline Lounge fireworks viewing. I did it about a week ago with my friends and we had a great time. You're up on a balcony on the Innoventions building. They have couches, tables and chairs, and it's set up in little 'living room' type arrangements. You get a good-sized snack/dessert box and unlimited sodas, water, cocoa and coffee (maybe other things but that's what I remember). They have games and light sabers, plus Mickey and Minnie come out and interact with everyone. And, of course, the fireworks viewing. They even provide snuggly blankets if it gets chilly.

What I don't know is whether or not this is suspended during the later holiday season. The cost was $45 pp, no discounts. I went into it thinking it was probably something I wouldn't pay for again, but really, it was such a nice place to sit and relax for a few hours and we had so much fun. Note: the viewing is ok but not necessarily amazing, and the same can be said for the treats.

That's cool...wonder if they will do something like that for NYE. How did you book it?

Thank you so much! It looks like Thursday would be better than Sunday, but not by much. I will have to weigh that against the extra holiday entertainment (it would mean having separate nights to do F! and the fireworks, as opposed to both on Friday).

Thanks again :)

Just an FYI, if you're not already aware, that weekend is a race weekend at Disneyland. I would imagine it would be pretty busy due to that, plus the veteran's day holiday.

Thanks, I am running all three races myself, so completely aware. That's part of my concern about doing F! and fireworks in the same night. It would mean an extra late bedtime before a very early morning race.

I have a few questions based on the last few pages:

Do you know if they run the Holiday Tour on Christmas Day?

Would the Frozen meal be worth it or should we save our funds and just FP it?

Is Tomorrowland Terrace worth it for a family of 4? I've heard mixed reviews. And if so, do we book it 30 days out? 60 days?

TIA

Ah, yes you would be aware than lol. Good luck with all 3 races! Hopefully you find a way to watch F! and fireworks without being too tired for your races.

No FP for Frozen any more.

I personally don't think Tomorrowland Terrace is worth it. Fireworks view isn't great, even if they do go off. And that's always iffy on a good day. No refunds if fireworks don't go.

Has anyone ever done the breakfast with Santa at Catal restaurant? My daughter wants to do this and since she's 7, I'm guessing this might be the last year she believes in Santa. However, it's pretty darn expensive! Has anyone ever done it? This review is raving but the reviewer also didn't have to pay for it either! For free, sure I'd love it too.

Oops now I just realized that it's sold out for the dates we were there. Yikes.

I would love to hear from anyone who has done the workshop at Ralph Brennan's.

I haven't done it but I booked it for 12/17 based on Caseys review that you posted. She's normally pretty honest about her reviews even when they're comped. I think it sounded like a good value (I mean, by Disney standards anyways)

When we saw the Frozen show our seats were near the back and somewhat to the side - I thought the view of the stage was pretty good. Being close up would have been better but I don't think that much better. We waited around 20 minutes before the doors opened, not sure how soon you'd have to line up to get close to the front. I think spending the money on a dining package for WOC or Fantasmic is a better value since most of the seats in the Frozen theater are good compared to other shows. I have not done the Terrace package, but I think it sounds super fun to get access to that spot, though I may be different from most people because I love, love, love the vibe and ambiance of Tomorrowland and would really enjoy hanging around up there with Mickey even if I didn't get to see the fireworks. All the dining/desert type packages can really add up fast for families and does make it a hard decision.

We've got reservations for Dec 10th, so it doesn't appear they are suspending it.

Can someone tell me what the workshop at Ralph Brennan’s is please.
You make gingerbread houses and the serve drinks there- I’ve seen reviews it seems fun but pricey. Most going bring a bunch of their own candy too and of course if you’re flying home they don’t travel well lol

I may try it next year, but the high price did me in this year. Sounds so fun and cute for the kids!
