Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen - noise levels?

Thinking of visiting RBJK for lunch or dinner while on my DL holiday, as the menu looks great. However, my DD (age 7) is very noise sensitive (we will need her to wear noise reduction headphones for parades, fireworks and shows). Is this restaurant very noisy from the live music? and is it worth going to? The menu looks good but I'm interested in people's opinions if they've eaten there. Thanks!

In my experience, the only noisy room is the piano room. The rest of the restaurant is fine. Options to eat are: 1st floor: piano room, open courtyard, patio; 2nd floor: dining rooms to the left, dining room to the right, and balcony. The piano room can get quite loud with the live music, so if I want to enjoy a conversation with my meal I request another location to sit.

Completely agree with this. We've been in the piano room and were barely able to talk together, but elsewhere (I love the balcony, personally) it isn't a problem at all.

Bring your headphones everywhere. Our kiddos did best having them anyntime a restaurant got too loud, if we were walking along the road to our motel, etc.

I agree that the piano room can be very noisy, especially close to the stage. The upstairs room (to the left when reach the top of the main stairway) can also be noisy, depending on who is dining in there and how full it is. I would probably opt to try for one of the outdoor areas; while there is noise, it's mostly on the same noise level as any outdoor patio area (basically, the ambient noise level of DTD).

I thought the food here was equal to or better than the food at Blue Bayou. And definitely I want to eat here again. We sat in the piano room and it gets loud, especially when there is applause.

More than equal or better. Far superior food! Especially the beignets.

They don't have the piano playing during lunch. Or at least, not the two times we've been there for lunch.

We have gone to Ralphs early, say around 4:30~5 PM mid-week when only half the dining room is open (because they don't have enough servers) and it's very quiet.
I'm sure that when it's full, it gets much more noisy.

Lunch is pretty quiet, otherwise i sit in the courtyard. Begneits are a must . I stop and grab some from the express whenever I am within 10 miles of DTD

Sunday is probably the only time you have to worry about live music in the piano room around brunchtime. Agree with all above-that is the only really loud room. My Daughter and I had dinner on the balcony a few weeks back on got to hear the ghost performers down below-very nice.
