Disney will now own The Simpsons, The X-men, American Horror Story, The X-files.... things Universal uses or has used in the past...

From what I have read, Universal has their Simpsons contract until sometime in the late 2020s. It might be a good time for something new by then.

They would still have to tear down and re-theme a whole section.. not just a ride.. that's a big undertaking.

That was Back to the Future, correct?
Yeah - the shop was also back to the future i think.

I dont recall what was in the rest of the area, but a worst case a generic midway area could replace much of it

Since Disney seems to buy every company Comcast spends money on for attractions (Marvel and now The Simpsons) I just wonder how long it's going to be before Disney buys Nintendo.

I think it makes Universal look like a sad little sister when they have the attractions and spent the money to get them up and running then Disney comes along and buys the controlling company.

Unless Comcast has something secret and mind blowing up their sleeves, I don't see this trend ending anytime soon.

A Disney WORLD is happening.. be ready to be assimilated!

If Disney already owns ABC, how can they buy Fox? Isn't that considered too much power buy one party?

It's not a monopoly, so I don't think it's a problem. Plus, I think, monopolies are only where consumer services are involved.. i.e. phone, electricity, gas, etc. (I could very well be wrong...)

The deal still has to be blessed so it's probably a year or more from being "official". Disney won't be able to do anything with their new assets until the deal is final.

Yeah...I think The Simpsons will be gone and hello Nintendo Land...or something else.

Disney does NOT get the following: Fox News, the Fox broadcast network and the FS1 sports cable channel, and the 20th Century Fox lot in Century City. Mr. Murdoch will also keep his newspaper-focused company, News Corporation, which has holdings that include The Wall Street Journal. So that is not included either.
