January 2018..... who will be there?

Vince, be sure to tell Savannah that the girls and myself said a big "Happy Birthday".

My oldest is asking when we're gonna meet up again...

What are your dates for March? Maybe I can pull off another surprise trip.

Well, you sent me the PM on that one and looks like the next year is gonna be hard for you and I to get together. Next year...we'll have to see.

First, Savannah and I would like to thank everyone for the Birthday wishes and likes, she really enjoyed the post.

Now we will get on with the day.

First up, the Birthday girl

Getting ready to head over to WC. We like going there for the fun time. We had the all you can eat skillet.

She got to say hi to one of her favorite waiters from last year, Craig from Dallas Tx. I know he didn’t remember her but they still talked for a few minutes. After came her celebration cupcake and singing. Our waiter, Chuckwagon as he is called, brought out her cupcake and everyone proceeded to sing. About half way through Craig came over and took a big bite from her cupcake. She was laughing but worried she wouldn’t get another. Chuckwagon went and got her a new one with a light up Tinkerbell.

She loved it. She didn’t eat her cupcake as she was full, so we brought it back to camp. We walked back because it was not in a container and she couldn’t bring it on the bus.

Next it was off to Melbourne so she could go to the flea market.

It is south of the 528 at exit 183. She had a great time walking around and going into the little pet shops to pet the puppies.

It was about 1:00 and time to get some appetizers from one of our favorite restaurants in Port St. John, just south of the space center on hwy. 50.

After we came back to the Fort to get ready for her next ressie, TE.
We had a filling dinner then they brought out her birthday strawberry short cake.

Mom and I had to help her eat it as she was pretty well stuffed.
DW was not feeling well, even before dinner so she went back to camp and Savannah and I headed to The Springs for her birthday present.

She spent a good hour in there before finding the set she wanted. After Legos we walked up so she could let dad pick up some cigars from Sosa’s then we headed back to camp. She is in the tent now putting her LEGO set together.

It had been a long day, but well worth it to see her smile.

We will be staying around camp so she can play with a friend that she made who is from Ontario. Before dinner her new friend came over and wished her Happy Birthday and let her pick a pin out of her pin collection. Both DW and I thought it was very nice of her and we both started tearing up.

It is now 11:10 and we headed off to bed. Again, thanks to everyone who made my little girls Birthday the best.

Vince

What a fantastic (and delicious) birthday. Way to go Dad:earsboy:
And hurray for Legos:thumbsup2

P.S. Does Savannah's sweatshirt say "Salt water heals everything?" I need one of those!:boat:

Today was a down day for us. Stayed at the campsite all day, didn’t go for a walk or anything. ‘Lil Medic played with her friend all day here at the site, Meadows playground and pool with DW. She is so excited she made a friend, and she will be able to see her again next January because that is the time of year they come down every year.

Once again lots of people leaving and lots coming in.

We only have 3 full days left to enjoy the Fort before we get ready to head back home. I hate how the time goes by so fast while we are here and how slow it seems to go while waiting for our trip.

We might have another trip planned here in a few months, depending on how busy work is. I will post more on that in the appropriate thread as it gets closer.

We have lots to plan for, for our Dec/Jan trip and lots of things to get ready before we come down.

We will be around the site for a few hrs in the morning then off to our first park of the trip. Will be back at the site later in the afternoon.

I haven't been on the boards much since our return trip. Holidays, back in the school routine, that kind of thing. BOY OH BOY did I pick a good time to check in. Sorry about the 42 notifications you have Vince :) Good to follow along on your trip, Vince. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIL MEDIC (Savanah). Looks like a great site and an awesome bday! I'm a little soured on the parks from the last trip, and I'm thinking our future trip would probably be better spent just skipping the parks all together. Everyone has such a good time just having Fort days alone. I gotta say, I'm a little jealous on the "we didn't even leave the site day". That sounds like a perfect day! Meeting friends and having a play date is great for kids, but when your a homeschool kid its like...well....better than Disney :) I know my kids highlights are those spend with new kids around the area. December was nice, but I missed all the fellow January campers we have met over the years. From now on were staying with January.

Thanks for all the updates and enjoy the remaining days. Hope your wife is feeling better.

Oh and we have those cups too!

Today started out with breakfast at camp then heading over to Aquatica for a few hrs. High today reached 82 so good waterpark weather. After we came back to camp and DD’s friend and father asked if we would like to go to the movie and roast s’mores with them. We took them up on there offer and headed out for dinner before everything started. We stopped off and picked up marshmallows from CVS, that was the only thing lacking for the s’mores, then headed to

Tonight’s movie was Jungle Book, not the animated version. We walked back to camp with her new friend and asked her father if she could stay the night with DD tomorrow night. She is so happy she will have a sleep over.

There’s a good chance of rain later tonight with strong winds so I made sure to tighten my guy ropes on the tent and ez-up. We are now resting in the tent and DD is sleeping.

Today was another day of relaxing.
We had a visitor this morning

We hatched him scavenge around for food then he made his way toward the canal. We had breakfast at the site, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and potatoes O’brian. After breakfast we went to the pool. Savannah did the sand art craft and made a key chain for mom.

Getting ready to make hot dogs for dinner then go looping.

Hi there campers! I meant to participate in the Sept thread but I packed in too many plans in too short a time and never did get my disboards act in gear. Hence, I'm going to try to make up for that failing in the January and February threads this year.

Arrived Sunday afternoon....the weather in Orlando is great!
Got set up in the 200 loop in a site that backs up to the small canal...not sure I'd want this site in the heat of summer (not much shade) but at this time of year it's a nice spot.

and to answer your unasked question...why yes, I created the Cars "eyeshade" myself...

Here are some pics of the back of the site:

Snowmedic awesome trip report. Nothing like mine which I finally conclude like 2 months later. LOL Having a B day at Disney is great. I did it myself back in 2014. So cool to have the button on and everyone is like happy bday and the like. However, we had an anniversary there back in 2015 (my bday and anniversary are 3 days apart) We got the treatment at TE one night. My wife and I were put in the spotlight when my parent told our waiter that we were celebrating our anniversary. The buttons didn't help much either LOL. We got a triangle and a bunch of hoopla. The cupcake was quite nice.
