Savannah vs. Standard View 1 BR at Kidani

I know I've seen this discussed before but I just couldn't find it. I currently have a Savannah Studio booked in May at Jambo for myself and DD for the 2nd half of our split stay (4 nights AKV). DH and DS now want to join us so I need to cancel the studio (will make someone happy as there is currently no studio availability) and book a 1 BR. I'm going to book Kidani for the extra bath and 3rd "bed." Trying to decide between standard and savannah views (24 points difference which I'll have to borrow). We've never stayed at Kidani before but DH and I have stayed at Jambo in both savannah and standard so we are fine with either. My college age "kids" want savannah view. For those who have stayed in both views at Kidani, which would you recommend? Is there a huge difference in the experience?

Personal preference is savanna view because I like sitting on the porch, drink in hand, watching the animals. Many however, are, like you, fine with standard view. You can still see animals out some large windows in the hallway, from the porch area outside community hall, and from the viewing area that is outside the lobby. Also, you can actually have a chance of getting savanna view with a standard room if you request a room near the Pumba elevator. In that area are standard rooms that were converted from savanna view. The savanna there is narrow there but animals still show up; also it is Pembe savanna and thus no giraffes, and walk to lobby and bus station is very long.

As long as your traveling party still gets excited by the animals, I would go Savannah view. It never gets old for us.

Our family loves savanna view and feel as though that’s the only option for our animal loving kids. :lovestruc

I'm another balcony dweller. Morning cup of coffee and waiting for the giraffe, zebra or other critter to make their rounds are the thing I live for at Kidani. We tried a standard view once for just 2 nights. It wasn't horrible, but seeing the people come in and leave on the ME bus was depressing and kept reminding me that we too had to leave soon. I'll not do a standard view again.
