This makes perfect sense! I was trying to gauge how much time we'd have between the parade and Hocus Pocus show if I watched it from Main St. close to the train station. It looks like the answer is not much.

Exactly! Plus you'll have guests leaving the park as you try to walk up to Hocus Pocus.

I'm not sure when your check-in date is but I highly recommend you take a look see at Kenny the Pirate's crowd calendars when touring in Epcot some days are better than others and you'll feel it. :-)

This is great info! I have been to Disney several times but this is my first time for MNSSHP. I saw the Headless horseman "show" and tried to book (we can only do the 1st date the 28th) and it is booked solid. Do you think there is a chance it will open up? Or can you do pictures with him the park during the party?

I'm sorry to hear it's already booked solid but yes there is always a chance it may become available so please keep checking. There are two ways to get this shot:
  • Head over to Tri-Circle-D Ranch stables at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground - You might be able to see the Headless Horseman and Daredevil as they prepare to ride prior to the parade though this is NOT a meet & greet.
  • Disney Photopass may offer a Magic Shot at the entrance of Magic Kingdom during MNSSHP. I say may because this information has not been released at this time.

Hi and :welcome: to the party!!! Just a few questions before we dive into your plans, are DM, DF, DFIL, DMIL need special services e.g. handicap? What are their ages if you don't mind me asking and are planning to stay together throughout the party?

No one needs special services and I'm thinking we'd be walking at an average to below-average pace. We are planning to stay together for most things with exceptions being tag teaming in the character lines (only 2-3 at a time) and MIL taking DD4 to another nearby attraction while the rest of us ride Space Mtn.

DF - 63 yo
DM - 62 yo
DFIL - 59 yo
DMIL - 57 yo

Excellent! I do like how you given more time from Point A to Point B and appreciate you understand how Tag Team works, you my friend have done your homework! Major kudos to you! :thumbsup2

I think you're still doing a bit of zigzagging though. If this was my family I would switch your FP priorities as these rides are walk-on's later in the evening.
4:20 - 4:50 Splash Mtn FP+ (3:30-4:30)
4:55 - 5:15 BTMRR FP+ (4:30-5:30) (Pirates if BTMRR is Down)
5:30 - 5:55 Space Mtn FP+ (5:30-6:00) (MIL & DD4 FP+ to ??)

Where as these are not. Haunted Mansion is a wild card, I've seen it busy and with no wait, you're attending a party on a Friday night which is a bit risky.
7:45 - 8:15 PP Flight
8:20 - 8:50 Haunted Mansion
8:55 - 9:30 7DMT

Seeing how these Meet & Greets are close by I recommend going on rides close by, then do:
6:30 - 7:10 Queen of Hearts & Tweedles M&G
Tag Team: Snack/Shop
7:10 - 7:45 Alice & Hatter M&G
Tag Team: Snack/Shop

I'm sure there are several people who have done this & that when they went but this is what I would recommend based on your family as a whole. :flower3:

Thanks for the input! So if I want to scrap this itinerary and start over do I just update the original post or add a new post lol? Seriously though, I'll update but it may take some time. I have much to weigh out and need to figure out what is truly "must do" vs. "really want to do" haha. I'm basically conceding 7DMT will not have availability 30 days out for the arrival window I need for 8 people. I'm not so sure about PP. I figured for the 3 FP I picked, there'd be plenty of availability. Also if BTMRR is down for the party but open during the day, I definitely want to ride it which is why I'm planning on it to be one of my FPs. If it is down the whole day, I'll be dissapointed, but honestly it would make planning easier.

Yes, you would use the "Edit" feature on your original post. ::yes:: Now I understand why you chose your rides that way, you do have an excellent point so you may want to make a Plan A and a Plan B.

Not really sure how this rumor started "BTMRR is down for the party but open during the day" currently it's not on any refurbishment list but things can and will change however, I have yet to see a ride close down just during the party. Yes, there are some Tiki, Jungle Cruise etc but I have never seen Splash or BTMR closed down just during party hours and open during the day. NEVER.

Based on this information, it looks like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is in need of refurbishment. :flower3:

The work done on BTMR in 2016 was to install and complete the new imagineering that DL had but WDW didn't. It was a huge project. If anything BTMR might need maintenance work and quite honestly I'd rather that be done than someone getting hurt. :littleangel:

Keep trying! Last year all the dates were booked but I kept calling and something opened up 2 weeks before we went!
 
Ok, I'm looking into my reworking my plans and was wondering if I stayed after the fireworks and watched the 10:45-11:05 Hocus Pocus show as opposed to the 12:00 show, would it be reasonable to think I could make it to Frontierland/Liberty Square in time to see the Headless Horsemen before the 11:15 parade?
