AllEars has announced that after October 15, 2018, pet dogs will no longer be allowed at YC, POR, or AoA.

They will still be allowed in certain areas of Ft. Wilderness.

I don't care even though I have a pet that sometimes travels with me. The cost was ridiculous plus I have a great place in Orlando that I board my dog where he is very well taken care of. I might have used Disney's kennel but they were full when I tried to do that. I don't want to have to get back to my room to take care of my dog.

The only reason my dog travels with me is that sometimes I leave from my home in one state but leave and return to my home in another state.

We love to travel with our dog but not to Disney. We are gone so much and would feel so bad leaving her alone all day. I am sorry for people that like to have there dog with them but not for us.

No different than it was before.

Has this been reported anywhere else?

Makes no difference to me. I wouldn't bring my dogs all that way (from MA) and one of them would not do well in a hotel all day, so it's not something I'd ever use, but I also don't mind seeing dogs around.

So we bring our dogs from Wisconsin and board them at Best friends. I love to know they are close so if there are any problems I can get there. It cost us around 75/day. For us to keep them at YBC would be twice that, with no cap. For that they could have their own room at pop. The price was just to high for the hassle. I did see dogs and even talked to a few owners with their do at YBC. They said it went well and never heard any dogs in their area of the hotel. I do think the "pet relief area" at YBC was way to small and to close to the quiet pool. Honestly, the dog waste container, that we had to walk past to, stunk to high heaven by mid day. Even as dog owner/lover I did not appreciate that at all.

Yes I think they should allow dogs in the rooms but it needs to be thought out much better, IMHO.

I voted as glad, even though it does not seem most guests staying at the applicable resorts have really had any problems or noticed them.

I am sure guest concerns about them (allergies, change resorts, ect.), makes the policy more trouble than it is worth!

I initially thought a few hotels allowing dogs was a good idea. Our most recent trip in early June changed my mind. I saw 2 dogs at AKL no issues but that is not a dog hotel. What turned me off was seeing a lot of dogs in the park wearing Service Animal tags and they clearly weren't, they were obviously pets and as I reported on the other thread when leaving Hollywood Studios one evening and I saw a very scared lab, snarling and snapping at a bus to POR. I felt so sorry for this poor animal. It was overwhelmed by everything around it. It also had a tag saying Service Animal but it looked homemade and no one was getting on that bus with that family.
