How many Christmas Tree Ornaments do you acquire each year?

For me it's about 5 additions per year.
Usually 1-2 as travel souveniers then maybe a new Hallmark ornament or some locally bought ones and even from a garage sale.
My tree is rather overloaded now but I will likely still continue to add. I've even donated/given some away but still have alot of them.

Four to six depending on if I see something that fits DH or myself. A Disney ornament for each kid (3) and a family ornament with our names and date on it. Oldest DD has moved to Seattle but did not take her ornaments but I expect she’ll want them next year. I got matching family ornaments and sent her one plus an ornament for her kitty’s first Christmas. But yeah, my tree is overloaded.

4-6. Disney and Hallmark. I have a few collections going. I do also get the grand daughter and grand son every year now.
So........5 this year.
I also buy them for family presents. I've been giving them to my kids since they were little.
I go to WDW tomorrow, so will probably come back with some more.

Usually 2-4. 1-3 are from trips (none this year though so I made a 2020 one that represents the year) and then usually 1 that represents something that happened during the year in my son’s life (playing the violin, first job, getting drivers license, etc) if nothing big happened he usually picks one of something he is into that year.

Usually zero unless we get special ones as gifts.

Our tree is a mishmash of everything, definitely no theme.

Same here. Sometimes my sister gets me an ornament as a gift, but the last ornament I bought was a glass Spaceship Earth that is displayed on my mantle all year long since it is freestanding.

We don’t have a theme either, but we do have primary colors of lime green, purple, gold and burgundy, that are pulled from the tree skirt and stockings. Not all the ornaments are those colors, but a lot of them are. We have a lot of Disney ornaments on the tree, and the skirt and stockings are sort of Hidden Mickey Disney. But I also have a half dozen pug ornaments, and probably a dozen ornaments with the Hallmark characters Hoops and Yoyo on them. Then there are another half dozen or so of Rudolph and the misfit toys ornaments, and a few UK themed ornaments. The tinsel is lime green and the star on top is white.

Past the annual stage in life. If something breaks that is important, I’ll search for an appropriate replacement. If it’s a filler ornament easy to get another.

We try not to add any new ornaments since our tree is packed full! This year I left a few in the box because they don't have much sentimental value and didn't fit on the tree. If we travel somewhere new during the year, we might buy an ornament. Otherwise, we have plenty.

Maybe one. Like some have mentioned I already have too many. This year I am not even decorating a tree. However, I have put out a special decoration honoring each family member.

Used to be several a year. At a minimum: company Christmas party; Hallmark collectibles for me, and 3 kids (each one a different collectible); plus any special event ones we'd happen across. Added to all the ornaments that DH & I brought to the marriage (we married older and both had established households), along with any family ornaments that got handed down from parents.

This year - none (I hope).

I'm hoping to split up all the Christmas ornaments into 3 groups this year when taking the tree down. One for each kid still at home and one for me and DH. They'll all still be in the house, but easier to move out when the time comes.

Two years in a row I got a few from the Hallmark store to collect, from various movies and TV.

Then nothing for years until recently- a Mandalorian Child from the Hallmark cheapo line at Walmart.

If I had a manger scene, he'd be in there. Imagine, you can even have Tusken raiders and banthas as wise men and donkeys. It's Star Wars for the Holidays, baby.

Depends on our travels each year, but I’ll say 6-8. We do a family one with the year, I’ll do one from each of our travel locations or another special event and I buy the kids one each that represents their Nutcracker role(s) that year (it was a dated one when they were younger)

Oh I just forgot they all get a more generic ornament from their dance director each year after NC. So we get them, but we don’t buy them.

The idea is the kids will move out with their ornaments and have enough to decorate a tree. We currently decorate two 9ft trees.

It depends on what happened that year. We usually pick one up if we travel somewhere new or celebrate something big. So some years it'll be 1-3 and sometimes, none. This year, we got 5 new ones -- 3 were in a set and a gift from my parents, 2 were to commemorate our on.
