If you aren't sailing DCL concierge, but are doing concierge elsewhere, which ship and why?

Be careful when looking at other cruise lines that you are comparing apples to apples. For instance, Celebrity has a level called Concierge, but it is really just a regular stateroom with a welcome lunch and someone to help you with reservations. Their suite level with a dedicated Lounge and...

    Royal Up

No way to know how many bids there are....they will notify you via email one way or another. It seems the acceptance emails arrive anywhere between three weeks and one day before sailing, and the losing bid emails arrive a day or so before sailing.

    ocular migraines

I also started having them in my late 50s. I have never had an actual migraine - just the ocular kind. I know exactly what triggers them...bright lights, especially bright LEDs, a very bright reflection off a car mirror, etc. They go away if I close my eyes for about 10 minutes, but they are...

Disney Shampoo/Conditioner messed up my daughter's hair!

Has she been swimming a lot? Pool water does the same thing to my daughter's hair. Look for a swimmer's shampoo at a drugstore.

Hair Color Dilemma If you use Natural Instncts

Circling back to add that I stopped by the CVS in our small-ish town and saw that they had a mix of the old and new...including two boxes of the old formula in a decent color! Snapped those up - may need to check out some other out-of-the-way drugstores over the weekend.....

Hair Color Dilemma If you use Natural Instncts

I've been using Natural Instincts for years and hate the new formula. The color it gave me was bland - they've gone to "all natural" ingredients, and somehow they took out something essential. I have been using Schwartzkopf brand hair color lately - it's permanent but seems to have decent...

Question regarding the card and lanyards...

If more women's clothing (especially sundresses and bathing suit coverups) came with pockets, I wouldn't need a lanyard either. And since my husband and I like to do different things on the ship, it would be most inconvenient for him to have my card.

HS Band Parents- how much does it cost you?

With participation and transportation fees, around $1000 for the season. Kids buy their own shoes and gloves, and an official band t-shirt for summer parades and under the uniforms. Parents run the concessions stands at football games and can earn credit toward the fees by working volunteer...

    Minyan for mourner's kaddish

Disney cruises generally do not offer any sort of services of any denomination, and if they do would tend to be non-denominational Christian. Your best bet for a minyan would be to join groups here, Cruise Critic, FB, etc. for your cruise date and ask other passengers. I am sure DCL could find...

    is Backstage Magic worth it?

We did Backstage Magic in November - visited Epcot (American pavilion) and MK (utilidors), plus costuming , laundry, ride repair, animatronics, and I’m sure there’s more I’m not remembering. Those were the only two parks, though.

    Best cough suppressant?

I use Tums for on-the-spot help, but for real relief I use Zantac. Start with 75 mg, but if that doesn’t help they have 150 over the counter, too. I take 300mg prescription strength. I saw a difference almost immediately. You can take it either in the morning or bedtime, whichever gives you the...

    Best cough suppressant?

Delsym works best for me. Also, I had a random cough that got worse when I went to bed - turned out to be reflux irritating my throat. Try an antacid....

Anyone want to share memories of shopping from a printed catalog?

I remember Green and Plaid stamps, Service Merchandise, Sears and JC Penney....At SM you would fill out the form and then stand at the end of a conveyor belt, waiting for your item to appear. The best was at Christmas, when you would circle what you wanted, even turn down the corner of the page...

Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

They are dorm-fridge-sized. I think we had a half gallon of milk and a couple of the larger Evian bottles in ours, and that was about it - two half gallons might work. If the smoothies are the small bottles like drinkable yogurt, they'll fit on the door.

Is my experience with POFQ normal?

We just finished up a stay at POFQ and had quite a different experience. We used the MDE app to check for bus arrival times - there were times the wait was more than expected, but the parks were busy and one morning there was a wreck just outside the exit to Epcot that closed traffic for a bit...

    “Disney Rash”???

Quick report back from last week’s trip - I fully expected to get the evil rash, since it was in the upper 80s and sunny every day. I used a very thick, broad spectrum 50 sunscreen for the first few days and never got the rash. On the last day I ran out and had to switch to the much thinner...

Guest experiences with daily room checks

We checked out of POFQ this morning after a 7-night stay. We napped every afternoon and took our time this morning packing up. We never once were interrupted or saw anyone doing room checks. Housekeeping came by around 10 this morning as we were packing - we asked for a few more minutes and...
