I'm betting I could stalk and waitlist my way to a week reservation for nearly any week of the year for a 1 BR at Beach Club if I had 7 months to piece it together.
I was upgraded on a 2 night stay at CCV (1/2/23 - 1/4/23) from a 1BR to a 2BR. Used online check-in and went directly to the room. Didn't realize it was a 2BR until I entered the room.
That doesn't mean you can't piece something together, but you will need to put in the effort (stalking the website multiple times per day, using short waitlists, etc.). You also need to be willing to stay anywhere and probably consider a split stay.
I had to look to see what was out there. No option for a club level room in GDT of course, but a club level room at the deluxe resorts typically runs 75-120+ points per night. Crazy expensive.
If there is one thing I have learned working for rather large companies it is this: senior decision makers do not care about administrative burdens. This will not factor in the decision at all.
What are your plans regarding the parks? If you are going to MK a bunch, the boat ride from the Lodge is quite enjoyable. If Epcot is your park, nothing beats Beach Club. You can also walk to Disney Studios from Beach Club, but it is quite a walk (a boat ride is also available too).
From what I have seen, it's pretty close but there are slightly more with a walk-in shower. Most of the tub studios are on ground level, so if you prefer to be on a higher floor, go for the walk-in shower.
