Bay Lake which view is this?

This is definitely a picture out of a third floor room. Note the roof over the lobby on the right hand side. That's a really great "standard" view.

Bay Lake which view is this?

It's definitely a lake view. I've been in that room. Great view of the electric water pageant when it's in front of the wilderness lodge from that room.

Help with banking / borrowing strategy

By banking your April 2024 points that puts them in 2025, so use by March 31, 2026. Adding those to your April 2025 points, you have 249 points. Borrowing 102 points from 2026 gives you 351 for the September 2025 trip. You'll get 73 points in April 2026, to use by March 31, 2027. You can...

    Welcome Home Center announced

Seems like a strange place to put a member lounge. A better choice would have been to put it in one of the parks.

Are Restaurants Easier to Reserve Now?

We booked only dinners for our Feb 2024 trip at the 60 day opening window. I was looking for Space 220 lunch, but couldn't get that at 60 days. When we were there, I checked the day before we were going to Epcot and snagged lunch at Space 220, and had my choice of times! A LOT of people cancel...

I can't be the only one! (December use year)

Yes, the phone worked fine. I suspect the laptop/desktop version of the website probably would work as well, but the UI makes the prospect of doing it a bit scary.

Free Water Park for 2025 Stays

I normally go in January or February, so only one water park open and it's normally too cold to swim anyway. Until this year, I would have laughed this perk off as being something I'd never use. However, this year we took the 6 year old grand niece with us. On check-in day, the first thing she...

I can't be the only one! (December use year)

One more twist to the story... It doesn't do it on the phone version of the website. It appears to be a UI issue where, on the laptop/desktop version of the website, the last line of the "select the contract" boxes that contain the number of current year points is missing/invisible. Seems like a...

I can't be the only one! (December use year)

No transferred points. Three contracts in the same use year, two direct and one resale, all of which say that I need to borrow 2025 points to complete the reservation.

I can't be the only one! (December use year)

I have a December use year. That means my 2024 use year, as I understand it, starts on December 1, 2024 and runs until November 31, 2025. My dashboard says that I have 221 points available in the 2024 use year, which is correct. Six points are banked 2023 BLT points, and 215 are from a BLT...

Is Ohana really that bad now?

My wife and I were fans of 'Ohana for years and years and years. It was a "must do" for us. Then, the changes... Shrimp casserole? YUK. Family style serving? Not the same experience. Getting rid of Auntie? Unacceptable. We stopped going in 2020. Fast forward to this year. We were taking the 6...

My recent stay generated a survey about EPCOT. This survey also included an LGBTIA+ question.

    Narcoosees vs Flying Fish

I found Flying Fish on the loud side. Maybe it was where I was seated, but our party of 7 had difficulty having a conversation during dinner. While I'm bummed that Narcoossee's no longer has whole Maine lobster on the menu, I'd still choose it over Flying Fish.

I wish Magic Bands could have DVC discount eligibility

I had a similar discussion just this week with my server at a resort restaurant. He scanned my band when I asked for the DVC discount and said his handheld scanner showed me as DVC-Y, Annual. He even turned his device around so I could see that it said that. Apparently, they can see it, but...

    DVC member new pin gift!

I got pins at the Toy Story Land Kiosk as well. They gave me two, one for me and one for my wife, who was there patiently waiting as I asked for the date when the Poly Tower would go on sale (they had no date, just that it would be some time in 2024).

    Activating DVC Annual Pass

After a gap in AP ownership caused by the pandemic, we bought AP's last Spring when they went on sale. We used them for the first time yesterday. Walked up to the tapstile, touched the band to to the reader, and got "welcome home" and the purple light. Didn't need to go to guest relations at all...

Are the samples of Cabins set up anywhere?

I, too, would want to see a real room before committing because our dogs are BIG. Consequentially, their crates are big and require significant floor space. Hard to imagine if they'll fit with only an architectural rendering available.
