Hong Kong Disneyland - only one day available

Hi it’s Diamond Princess departing Singapore on 6 jan 2020. Stops at Ho Chi Minh, da nang, nha trang, Hong Kong (overnight), Taipei, Osaka, toba and finishing in Tokyo. It’s really ideal for us in Australia because it’s during our school holidays. I hope dcl bring a ship or two over to...

Hong Kong Disneyland - only one day available

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I have a year to do my research so fingers crossed :)

Hong Kong Disneyland - only one day available

Follow up question.. I am going to look into 1-day touring plans, but it would be good if I could get everyone's input on what you feel are uniquely HKDL experiences. We're quite familiar with DLR and WDW and we've only got the one day at HKDL so we would obviously prefer to do things that you...

Hong Kong Disneyland - only one day available

Ah, that's good to know. I'd assumed that 8pm closing time meant a parade time of 7:30 or something. Maybe the first day is the way to go. Hopefully we'd be able to leave the ship around 8am or so, and at the front gate before opening time.

Hong Kong Disneyland - only one day available

Hi all, just after some advice from people who know Hong Kong/have been to HKDL. We've booked a cruise next Jan that's sailing from Singapore to Tokyo, with an overnight stop in Hong Kong. This means we can tick off two more Disney parks off our list! We will be arriving at Hong Kong 7am Sun 12...

Pre-Alaskan Cruise Hotel Suggestions out of Vancouver BC

In 2007 for our honeymoon we stayed at the Rosedale on Robson. and last year for our 10th anniversary we stayed there again. I'm pretty sure they still have the same furnishings and decor as ten years ago, and they were dated even back then haha. But what the heck. It's conveniently located...

Carnival Cruise Legend -- Fight Breaks Out

This is not a cruise issue, it's an idiot issue. Obviously this family are idiots and would have caused trouble anywhere they went. I don't know about the handling of the situation by the ship staff though - the video I've seen where security and laying the boot in... that's not a good look...

    Princess Cruise

We sailed with Princess last year to Alaska, on the Star Princess. We tried to make DCL work, but it just wasn't feasible with an Alaskan cruise. Long story short, it was a great cruise. Not as "nice" as DCL (we had previously gone on the Fantasy on a Western Caribbean itinerary) but not too...

With new DTD Security when do GCH do security?

The entrance to DTD, just next to Anna/Elsa's (or whatever it's been replaced with).

Disneyland cancels Eastern Gateway, more parking and hotel

I wonder if they will allocate part of the new hotel to DVC? With VGC being so popular and with only that property offering DVC at DLR, they might be able to offer new contracts again.

DisneyWorld Vet visiting DL for forst time

I dunno. if I only had ONE DAY, I would consider picking one park and sticking with it, probably DCA for someone who is familiar with WDW and therefore has some familiarity with many of the DLP attractions. We usually go for a week. We've done three visits to Disneyland, about 21 park days, and...

Help settle a debate about EMH

The best onsite perk IS the early entry :) We get so much done in the first couple of hours that I don't mind waking up early for it. You can always head back to the room for a nap when it gets busy around 11am (and because you are staying onsite.. it should be a short walk!) IMO DLP early...

Phone-Free Max Pass... Is it possible?

You won't be able to purchase OR use maxpass without scanning your ticket to enter one of the parks. So you'd have to go through security, wait in line, enter the park, immediately leave the park, go back to the GCH, book your fast passes, go back through security, wait in line again and enter...

    Photopass question!

It doesn't matter WHAT they scan. The app, a screenshot of the app, or a traditional plastic card. You can link them all to one account by scanning the QR code. I found it easiest for each of the adults in the party to have a plastic card handy. It's quick and easy to bring out, and you're not...

"World of Color" from Grand Californian

IMO the view from the viewing area at the GC is underwhelming. It's on an angle and is nowhere near as immersive as actually watching it in DCA. I guess it's kind of ok if you have already seen the show, but I can't recommend it if you have never seen WOC. We've stayed at the GC twice and in...

    Rider Switch? What is it?

Yah it's basically for families who have 1-2 small kids who can't get on rides. It allows one adult to stay with the child, then immediately get to swap and ride as well without having to wait in line.

    Board Game Recommendations

Yeah I've played with and without drafting. If there's first time players at the table I lean towards non-drafting because you can't really gauge the value of a card unless you're familiar with the game, and it DOES add a bit of extra playing time.

    Board Game Recommendations

Yes! Scythe is pretty good. It's actually not as complex as it LOOKS. Simple action selection every turn, basically on a rondel of sorts. Gorgeous components. If anything it's maybe a bit TOO light, and can give players the impression that it's a wargame or in some way more fighty than it...

    Board Game Recommendations

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if there was any discussion of codenames on here :) Love it, one of the better party games of the last few years. I normally play more complex strategy games, but codenames and a few others are great options to start or end a games night. They...

    Fantasmic speaker trick

I don't think it's a speaker, I believe it's a lighting rig? Anyway, we used that on our first visit and enjoyed it. Our next two visits, we did the BB dining package. From memory on this most recent trip, I noticed that the rig had already been raised sometime in the late afternoon before we...
