I know this sounds silly, as single parents do it all the time. But has anyone ever taken a trip with one kid and left the other parent and sibling at home? I'm considering this for my eldest daughter's 7th birthday-just a short and special 3 night trip for she and I to spend time together...

Those are the Dream, but the reality is more like the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. I'm not what you'd call "outdoorsy," but the theming is similar to the resorts we used to stay in in the Midwest when I was a child, so it kind of appeals to me on a nostalgia level.

Would some folks with experience share with me the good, bad, and ugly of staying in the Cabins? The idea of having a kitchenette and enough room to take Mom along with us and the kids is really appealing. But what should I think about before booking here? Thanks for your time! Following along...

We had Ohana dinner 2 weeks ago (fantastic!! Loved it!) and then Ohana breakfast the next morning. We all (9 of us) agreed our morning there was our least favorite meal of the trip, but their dinner was our favorite meal. Definitely won't do breakfast there again! Service was...odd. Our must-dos are Tusker House breakfast and Ohana dinner! Those noodles are outstanding!

Just returned from Pop, and I concur with the above posters. It was perfect for the kids (pizza and burgers and fries, oh my!), but husband and I didn't care to eat there more than once. :-)

That is what happens, but incognito mode doesn't fix it. Shrug. We'll see how it all pans out. At least my requests are in for the first night. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for the reminder! Our added night is actually our new arrival night, so we know we will be paying out of pocket the first day. I can imagine that would be frustrating if you didn't know that and lost a ton of dining credits!

The housekeeping gift card being back is great news! We're checking-in in 12 days and I'm getting super excited and wishing for pixie dust for a refurbished room. Hoping there will be some new information to report at that time!

Did online check-in for 9/17 arrival today. Here's hoping for one of the new rooms...I chose 90s for first request and 80s for second request. Hopefully, the opening dates for the two 80s buildings were accurate!

How awesome to see all these pics! I'm loving the Pluto mural in the Murphy Bed. Would love to hear reports on the comfort level of the beds...I've heard the old beds were pretty rough.

Your reasons against Allegiant are exactly mine. We are blessed to live about 30 minutes from Lambert Airport, but it's hard to get a good enough deal for me to justify flying, with a family of 4. Re: Hotels in Atlanta...we normally spend around $70-80/night when staying at the Atlanta...
